Hello Juddbudd,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your computer is suitable in terms of the CPU, RAM and OS ..... but there is no mention of the graphics card. What are the specs of the graphics card ?

Regards

Well, post your Dxdiag. If you do that, we figure it out for you!

You possibly mean ATI Radeon HD 4200.

Unfortunately it ranks way below the one recommended for SSE and is not suitable for running the simulator

ATI Radeon is a good graphics card for gaming. You just need the right one. The one recommended for SSE is the HD 4850. Even that card is a bit ancient now. The present series is the HD 6xxxx

The card counts mostly, I am quite satisfied with my HD 6670.

Reducing the resolution (in full screen mode) helps running the game with slower cards though. The required videocard heavily depends on the resolution. When trying to run the game in 3840x2160 resolution two Radeon HD 6970 cards in CrossFire mode were needed to run the game, but when reducing to 1920x1080 a single card could run it at 60fps. At 800x600 resolution the required GPU power will be significantly less (4x less pixels). If the lowest possible resolution still doesn't help, a new card is the only option.

Hi juddbudd, you haven't provided your dxdiag yet, but I assume you have a system comparable to this:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2358037,00.asp
As you can see, the graphics are considered the weak link.  It may be worthwhile to invest in a better videocard  :)
Keep in mind if you do so, you may also need another PSU (power supply unit)
