Depents on what you play. Also have this in mind: Laptops were never created for high end gaming!

Hm, starting from $899,- to $1999,-. Even more expensive than Apple's Macbook.  :P

You can get decent gaming laptops these days, but for the best gaming experience, and much cheaper a desktop is the best option.

Alienware are good, but you pay alot for the name, you can get just as well built and powerful systems for much cheaper.

Also, Macs and Mac books would be good for gaming, if most games were made for them which they are not. As performance wise they are no slower than Windows based PC's. In fact the top end Mac pros come with two Intel Core I7 processors giving a total of 12 processing cores with hyper threading which means they can handle a massive 24 processing threads at once. Windows PC's can't do that.

That would be gaming bliss, if games where made for Mac's.

Just going to correct you there, they only come with one i7 2670QM at 2.2Ghz. That is a four core with hyper-threading to 8 Cores. No-where near the 24 as you stated.

Let me re correct you and correct my self, after re looking they now don't come with the I7 as i stated, but they do come with two Intel 6 core Xeon processors which are very very similar. These processors still have hyper threading, so in the system there is 12 real cores, and 12 virtual cores. Allowing for a total of 24 threads, exactly as i stated.

Here it is, if you would like to buy it

http://store.apple.com/uk/configure/Z0M4?select=select&product=Z0M4&mco=MTg2OTQ5OTk

Remeber I did say the top end Mac Pro's come with this, not the Mac books or iMacs, which do come with a single four core I7.

Sorry about that! I misread and thought you meant a macbook pro. You need quite a large pocket to get a high end pro  :o
