Server Hosting
« on: September 18, 2011, 17:02:56 »

Hi all,

This may seem alike a daft question but im not fantastic with IT tech:)

Is it possible to host a multiplayer server using just a laptop connected to an internet cable, aka Its a network.  Or do I need my own router to make it work?  I downloaded the server package and it sais that a channal that is needed for this project has an incorrect engine version: "very long number" :S

any ideas?

thanks in advance

As far as I know you need a router in order to host your own server.

I'm not 100% sure about this though, but I'm 99% sure

Hi

Have you NH? MP-Server not work with NH! I have the same error.

No need a Router! You can open a port in the firewall, when you have a DSL with Modem.
