Update: Marias Pass coming April 11th! ;D

Recently released was Keith Ross's Western Lines of Scotland:

Lima 2-8-0 was released a while ago.

And just recently released was the Alco RS11 in PRR livery.

And as a bonus, here is a work in progress image of the upcoming A4:

Update: Marias Pass coming April 11th! ;D

...
I bet they do not have tested it and it's gonna be the same thing what we got with the Donner Pass: In career missions the trains can't even reach the summit because of too steep sections on the track...

And then we have to wait eight months for the fix, just like with the Donner Pass.

I hear Marias will be much better than the first version of Donner. It will also have AI in quick drive!

More new stuff coming in Marias Pass! ;D

BN SD40-2 skin 1.

BNSF SD40-2 with the "Dalek silo" in the background.

BN SD40-2 skin 2, with new cars: BN grain hoppers and BN woodchip hoppers. Green everywhere! ;D

Yes, it's AMAZING!  ;D ;D My new favorite route! :2thumbs:

From Shelby to Glacier Park it's rolling hills and farmlands (with a penguin in Cut Bank  ), and you can see the mountains from miles away! And since it's completely flat and straight in that stretch, speed limits reach as high as 80 mph. The detail on the route is fantastic, but I haven't covered all of it yet. I'll post pictures later.

The only downsides: the BN[SF] SD40-2s are a separate DLC, the horn of the ES44DC is really quiet (sounds like a flute quartet blowing into a microphone), couplers are absent, textures for platform lights are missing, and a lot of the landscape is grey (but I think that's just my graphical settings).

I can't wait for some pictures RB! Not much on youtube about it unfortunately but I guess not many people have covered the 150 mi yet  :P

Edit: ah, what the heck.. I've bought the twin pack with the SD-40

Get ready for my illustrated adventure on the Marias Pass, from Shelby to Whitefish! ;D

Passing the Lewis and Clark Memorial/Monument. Fun fact, the pass is named after the Marias River that runs alongside it, which Meriweather Lewis named after his sister Maria.

Today's train is four ES44DCs hauling 120 coal hoppers. Four of these beasts is a bit overkill, I've seen two SD38-2s haul heavier loads with no problems.

Crossing the bridge into Glacier National Park. Eighty mile per hour speed limits are long gone.

Going over the Glacier National Park gateway.

The mountains form a perfect backdrop during the transition from prairie to boreal.

Passing by a truck stop featuring the new blue semi trucks. Colors also come in red, and there are also new smaller trucks with faux Coca-Cola brand markings.

Things get chunky as I wind around mountain curves. This one is near Blackfoot, and is very sharp and steep with a 1.8% grade.

Single track railroading at it's best!

Passing the Izaak Walton inn in Essex. That locomotive to the right of the hotel is a GN F45, #441. After she was pulled from service she was gutted, reupholstered, and was put into a different line of service as a [very expensive] hotel room.

RSC has a keen eye for detail. Scattered radio towers provide the perfect atmosphere. Every once in a while there is even a wheel slippage detector.

There are even new tunnels! As you can see, the interiors are nondescript concrete, and the arches contain cables for added detail.

More scenery than the Donner!

From this angle you can see the river, which now has green at the bottom to simulate shallowness and algae.

A perfect fishing spot!

Rolling over the second gateway to Glacier.

A picture from the lake.

Passing a logging center, almost to Whitefish.

Stopped at Whitefish Yard.

I had so many pictures I wanted to post, but I fear there's a character limit so I'll just leave the best secrets up for discovery. ;)

Great pictures RB! I am also very pleased with the Marias Pass, it has just so much detail and is also very versatile with the changing landscape.

Are those pictures orginal or did you added some saturation with photoshop? They look so colorful, the orange is just so orange  :P I see what you mean with the landscape being grey. Are your drivers up to date?

I haven't been though that tunnel yet, but then again.. I also have no clue where I did have been as I am not familiar with the area

No, these are the actual raw pictures. I think it might be my game settings. I'll mess around with them later today.

And nice model! ;D I've always had my eye on that SD40, as well as the Maersk container ship. And do you also have the Super Chief cars? Lego made some "aluminum" rolling stock for the F7 that's really nice:

Set 1: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=10025-1
Set 2: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=10022-1
F7: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=10020-1

I wish Lego made more train models. Like Big Boy or an F40PH or something like that.

Yep, I have 3 cars for the F7, 2x the 10022 as passenger car and post car and a 10025 as a diner car with the round shaped back. The GP38 hauls 1 double stack car. None of my trains are motorized though, they are just eye candy. I would like to have another SD40 but then in UP livery.

My SD40 also hauls an bathtub condola in CN livery  :)

I also wish lego made more models like this or the Emerald Night for AFOLS and not those city trains for childeren  ;)

Eye candy models are best. I have the London Tower Bridge, the Burj Kalifa, Rockefeller Center, the Farnsworth House, the Robie House, and Villa Savoye, but I've had many more in the past.

And one thing irks me about the Maersk SD40: since when have US locomotives been used in Europe, assuming Maersk liveried locomotives are only found in the Netherlands.

And nice CN gondola.  ;D

The class 66 that hauls most freight on the UK rails is an EMD stuffed into a BR-type carbody.
The class 70 is a GE  PowerHaul. Both locos are used extensively on the continent as well.

Well, besides those. What I meant was locomotives used mostly in North America, like SD40s or ES44s.

After playing the Marias Pass for a while, I wonder what they mean with a Z train. It's often being mentioned in the hi line dispatch messages.

Any clue?
