Thanks for the new patch
« on: August 25, 2011, 16:41:22 »

I would like to thank you very much, VSTEP  :2thumbs:

The new patch is great. With V 1.4 we now have got a good base for a bug free game with lots of Add-Ons.

*There is no more bouncing.
*Tuging in MP is working perfect.
*Albatross has finally got it's bow ramp.
*Some ships have got new horns

You guys just showed us that you can do a nice and nearly bugfree game.

Thanks,
Joey

Thank you from my side too. It's amazing how graphics changed - day and night within one area easily.

Finally it's getting ridiculous!!  >:(

Hi MrLightman,

That's not really normal indeed, it could indicate that you have a graphics issue with your card/driver on your pc perhaps. Might I ask, is your pc up to the task, graphics-card wise?

There isn't really any chance in the patch to this kind of thing at all that I am aware of. Perhaps you could post your dxdiag/pc specs, so we can have a look at what migh possibly be wrong.

Regards,
Fred

Hi Fred,

guess I was posting too early - it's been a one-time problem occuring on the first start after installing the patch. Attached a pic how it looks now and ever did.

Sorry!

But I still have the problem in walkthrough mode as in patch 1.35. When I go to the right both rudders turn right as well. No problems to the left, forward, backwards, just to the right.

Regards

Hi again,

No problem!! Glad to hear that it's okay again now!

If it does occur again, just let us know, cause it's always best to be thorough!!  :)

As for that controls issue. Yes I had that too. That seems to be a nasty bug and they are working on that too. As for a quick fix... question; Do you have the walkthrough mode mapped to normal cursor keys?

I use WASD to move around and it does not turn the controls with it for me. With the normal cursor keys it would conflict with the controls too. Hope that helps!

Regards,
Fred

Well, unless you have intimate knowledge about how labour intensive some changes were, you can't really make any accurate remarks of course.  :)

@mad_fred: indeed, I have no idea how long it takes...but then I would expect some changes....I don´t see any real changes or improvements...

cheers

Then you haven't noticed them yet. I have played all the campaigns again these last days and was pleasantly surprised about the mooring without problems, the absence of bouncing ships, the towing which went a lot better.. and more of such improvements.

And there was a lot of talk about those things needing changing. And they took some doing.  :)

Haven't been able to play SSE Much due to Comp issues but it looks a lot better now so Thanks

And the Albatross has a Bow Loading Ramp  :)

Although its only half a loading ramp I think? Not that I am complaining - looks great, but will the other half come at some stage? Still is great though :)

I think this patch is great! Because:
    • NO BOUNCY DOCKS!!!
    • towing bug fixed!
    • I'm actually getting better preformance!

Bora Bora is a natural area that is not used for shipping although you might find a cruise ship there but not cargo ships

There are no buoys in the Bora Bora environment.

I just discovered a nice little detail. When gently docking Red Eagle alongside the old wooden pier at Fort Denison (Sydney), I heard a wood-creaking sound because of the strain..  Don't know if it was always like that.. ;)
