I forgot that! The Olympic, at the time a Troop ship, spotted a U-Boat and turned towards it and ram it. I knew something was left out in my knowledge of the liners.

Titanic is the odd one as all the other three sailed in a World War while Titanic sank before World War I, Lusitanis sailed in WWI and the Hood the Gustloff sailed in WWII

The Hood is the only one to have been sunk in the Battle of the Denmark Straight..Either initially by the Prinz Eugen or later the Bismarck..

very good ansers. my anser is the gustloff is the odd one out. when the others sank there was puplic outcry and shock in britain when reached britton of their sinkings while he sinking of the wilhelm gustlof was all but forgotten

exactly. the point is all 3 generated som form of shock reaction while wilhelm gustlof's sinking went almost unnoticed

Could the reason be that the Gustloff was sunk by a Soviet Sub and not another allied one?
Allmost all of the people on-board were civilians, among them more then 500 children.
It was an outreagous act of brutal slaughter from the side of the Soviet Union.
In 1990 the commander of that sub was posthumous awarded with the title "Hero of the Soviet Union"

Olympic was the only non-cunard ship in that list?

Carpathia is odd because she was the only one to have sunk.

The Admiral Scheer is odd because her namesake (Reinhard Scheer) does not include "von" (Gerhard Johann von Scharnhorst, Otto von Bismarck, Maximilian von Spee are the namesakes of their respective ships)

I would also say the Admiral Scheer, but because her size was limited to a cruiser by the Treaty of Versailles..

Admiral Graf Spee is the odd out as she was the only German warship not to receive 'Atlantic' bow and a new funnel rake modifications?

(EDIT: sorry I didn't see barrown1990's answer!)
