No, you will not have Steam if you download from shipsim.com.

I'm afraid I don't use Freedom 90 so I can't answer that question.

As far as I know, the only way to get rid of Steam is to simply buy a new copy from shipsim.com. If you already have the Steam version I don't believe there is a way of making the game independent from it.

Not sure if that would work, you are still only allowed one copy on one computer

Even if it is, its not worth the issues that appear to be caused by STEAM, and the delay when any DLC comes out...

Yes, you can install Steam on any computer, log in with your account and it will recognise that you are on a different system and send an activation code to your email address which will allow you to access your Steam games from that computer. This is a nice feature BUT having a the Steam version has turned into a nightmare for me, my advice to everybody is to avoid the Steam version at all costs....don't be fooled into thinking that the boxed version in shops is not Steam.....it is.

You can download And install STEAM on any computer yes, but you won't be able to play games because your games will only stay on your own PC or else you need to reinstall everything if you want to play your games on an other PC.

What are the general problems with Steam.  I've got the Steam version and I'm getting terrible frame rates (dropping to as low as 4 fps) even with a monster computer (sandy bridge chip and GTX580 graphics card).  Is this the problem that other Steam users are experiencing?

If this is the problem, can I download and run the non steam version on the same computer (assuming I purchase a second licence)?
