Location of Old DFDS Ferry terminal in Cuxhaven?
« on: May 17, 2011, 14:31:05 »

Hi, Looking on Google Earth I am trying to find the Cuxhaven Terminal used by DFDS Seaways a few years back for their Harwich-Cushaven service?

Looking at Google Earth there are a few linkspans dotted around.

This picture:

looks like its possibly the most northern one? Could anyone here confirm this?

Many Thanks,

TFM

Edit: Added the terminal I wanted, because I forgot the most important word...

As far as I remember, the DFDS ferries have been moored at the Western end of Parkeston Quay. In the early years, the so-called England-Fähre has been moored directly in Harwich.

I meant the Cuxhaven terminal - I probably should have stated which one I wanted

I used the Harwich when I went with the then Scandinavian Seaways to Hamburg

Thanks :)

Well, there is just one RoRo linkspan in Cuxhaven, heading up the river Elbe. ;)

Is that google touching up the water colour or is there some strange geological feature that causes the sea to be that colour?

In 2002 it was the berth in the centre of the screen, as seen occupied by "Admiral of Scandinavia". I was on a freight ships from Immingham and we berthed at the second from the left - and had a long walk into town!
