1. Do I have the same ships, envioments and so on as i have in the SS08?? (Is it the same game?)
2. Does Shipsim Pro work together with Garmin Mapsource (Bluechart)
3. Does Shipsim Pro support 2 controlers (USB joysticks)
4. Can I use the map editor for the pro ver.?
5. Can I play SS Pro online?

5 quests for now.. I mite have more after some anwsers :P

Hi Mr. Bucher,
Someone else will be along who knows the answers.
Meanwhile I have some questions:
If you have all those neat real ships to play on, why do you need ShipSim? :)
As an Engineering Officer, I’m not sure you’d be allowed on the bridge of the Pro version. ???
None of the ships in the SS08 have proper engineering spaces, so you might get terribly bored with no oil to change, no injectors to replace, no jugs to swap out, no vaps to clean, and no waste holding tanks to service. ;D ;D
Outside of that, it’s a great sim.
Welcome.

Hi Mr. Bucher! :)

There is no pro version of SS08 yet and it isn't clear whether or not there will be one.

The SS2006 Pro version is completely different from SS08 and you don't have the same environments, only Hamburg, Rotterdam, New York and Phi Phi. You can't play online with SS2006 Pro.

A free multiplayer update for SS2008 will come later this year.

EDIT: Bucher... now without the the T - grønnegaard without the Ã¥...  ;) :D Sorry about that.

Ok I guess ill have to wait for the online update...

Are there any change that there will be an update where i can use the GPS data from the game in my sea charts? Like in SS Pro where you can have a 2nd screen with a seachart.... I really Love this idea :D

You're welcome.  :)

There isn't such an update with a sea chart interface yet, but with the v1.1 you can get the game sea chart on your 2nd screen. I don't have a second screen and I'm not quite sure how to set this up, but the v1.1 announcement (http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,2361.0.html) says it should be possible.  :D

Hello,
If you have a nav software with adequate charts, a pleasant way of doing it without a second monitor, is to use the Double Desktop program, a relatively small freeware that creates a virtual second monitor to which you can switch easily. There will of course be no data coming from ShipSim, alas, contrary to ShipSim 2006 Pro.
