based on this topic: http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,25351.new.html#new
i have a little advice for you when posting updates, i think it's better and more interesting for people when you post updates when a lot more work is done compared to the prevous update.

for example, if i make a update about a wall i add, and the next update is about another wall, and another and so on, no one will be interested.
however if you limit your updates from a hull that's made to a superstructure that's being added, more people will watch the process.

also it would be more logic when your first screenshot shows the actual ship instead of a plain surface which is nothing more then a flat surface that anyone could make. screenshots like that must show the new design being made, something you worked hard for that no one else can do aswell.

please do not take this wrong, i'm just giving some advice which might be usefull.
Good luck with further modelling!

Craigster1,

Lotsa luck on that project!  nice to hear.

That's some good advice that you just got. I'll also like to second that.

And, try not to make so many topics if you please. You don't need to make a topic to announce something that's not there yet, you can just start one when there is something to show.

And, indeed, make sure there is something to show, not just every step of the way. This forum is not meant for you to share pics with one person about your progress, you can do that on msn or such.

Keep the topics you do post, centered together, don't spread things out in several topics, and make them worthwhile and interesting. This is not a file/photo sharing site, people want to see interesting things worth discussing, as this is a discussion forum of course.

So, try not to be so trigger happy with topics, if it's about the same thing, keep it in the same topic. We had a talk about that before, I hope you'll cooperate with it, or else the place gets messy and we'll have to step in to clear up loose ends. And we've got plenty of stuff to do as it is, as you can guess.

So, good luck on this, I'm keen to see what you come up with, but keep this, and what mr robville said, in mind please.

Regards,
Fred

Hi,

I agree with Mad_Fred, I think it´s still too early to announce it...think of the CCC...it´s even too early to announce vessels and environment when they are designed...that was at the beginning of February...people don´t want wait too long if they once learned of new vessels...we almost forgot now that there are vessels and environment to be released...people loose interest if it takes another half year...(or more)...(it´s the experience I made here...)

But however, I wish you good luck and fun...enjoy it.

cheers
Ingo

now that's some better progres updates!  ;)

one thing though (and forgive me if i'm wrong), as this project is under "Active projects" it means it is meant to be a potential SS vessel.
the seats on the bridge show a diffrent modelling quality then the bridge itself, indicating it's used from a other model. as far as i know, Vstep only accepts models being made by people themselves, not prefab objects.
i don't reconize TFM's way of modelling in those seats either, again please excuse me if i'm wrong.
i just say this for you to avoid any problems in the future in case it is a used component and you want to publish it to Vstep.

i like the way the bridge looks now! you even gave the glass a volume.

it's called constructive feedback. making fun would be more like "haha take a look at that spelling mistake! any fool knows it's channel" that's making fun of, obviously this is just an example i give.

if a modeller bites off to anyone who has something to notice about his/her work he will probaly never improve his modelling qualities as he will think he's already doing the best.

Please don't take this wrong, but accusing VS for making fun of you when he gives constructive feedback is just wrong.

A sure fire way to get everyone to join- offer them a freely downloadable model of your ships.

You DO know that it's usually the people who say that who are the very people who need to follow that advice...
