Hello,

I like the "Albatross" the most. Because she's a beauty in real life. Almost the colors of the MV Apollo from Woodward Group. Nice...
2nd I like the White Marlin, because she's very fast and the steering is very easy, my opinion.

But:
Why can't we close the ramp of White Marlin all the way. It looks as she is sailing with open doors. Not to forget the bulkdoor behind the ramp, which is closed all the time. And at last: It shouldn't be possible to open the front door of Albatross in open sea without sinking. Just a few thoughts...

But I like it very much  :2thumbs:

Hi Stefan,
The watertight doors on "White Marlin" do open & close. See the picture below. I think also that the ramps, when lifted, are in the correct position to match reality.

Hi Stefan,

and Welcome on the forum :-)

In real life, the ramps of the Condor Express and Condor Vitesse (the real life ships on which the White Marlin is based) don't raise higher than on the White Marlin model.

You can check it on real life pics of the ship, like this one for example :

The ramps are only ramps, they're not watertight doors (that's why there are doors behind them).

Probably the White Marlin boy is she quick but also Albatross IV.

Out of interest which ship is the Albatross modelled on??

And has anyone else figured out what the open and close buttons operate on the Albatros??
(Not the stern ramp or bow controls but the little switch beneath them)

Fantastic fun all of them.

Hi Attree,

The Albatros IV is modelled from the M/S Coromuel ( http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/coromuel_1973.htm ), one of the well known "Papenburg Sisters" ( http://www.ferryfantastic.webs.com/papenburg.htm ).

The Open/Close button allows you to lower/raise the bow ramp (which is behind the bow visor).

I think the ramp is missing...

Maybe we could have another repainted Albatross IV, this one in Channel Ferries colours, with a speed of 19.5 knots (see Earl Granville :) )

Should do for you - I saw her in Harwich few years back (OK quite a few, like 10), as the Rosebay ;)

I think one of the mods said it wasn't possible to have a working bow ramp.

I'm not too bothered, I'm just glad the bow visor works - it looks so cool.  8)

there is a button saying open close but the ramp isnt working
I mean There is No ramp behind the bow visor..

So its the Mods playing a advanced version of SSE when we just keep with a regular normal one :(

What we need is a channel ferries fleet. Operating from all 3 uk ports (not padstow even though it is beautiful and rick steins food is fantastic, but its way too small) in the game to Calais.

But what would be core is a modelled ferry that actually does the Dover to Calais route and fits in the berths etc... Something like TFM's Channel Queen perhaps could be the workhorse. Pride of Rotterdam repainted could be our flagship for her size, White Marlin providing the speed trips and hearty old Albatross doing the night runs.

Oh I can dream.
Or I could create some missions.  ;)

Someone put me back in my place I'm being too ambitious here.
 :)

And of course make the warships playable to "escort" this fleet.
