Can someone explain why Red Eagle moves when you set the direction..
Shouldn't she move when you set thrust..?

Hello Saltydog,

A bit late, I was expecting the reaction a little sooner !  

PS I have a surprise using the RED EAGLE !  

Do NOT use the throttle now  

and stear max to the strb or port side !  

Watch what happens !  

Hope you like it , because it helps a lot to manoeuver in tight spaces !

I understand Red Eagle has no throttles, the VSPs turn at a constant rpm..
To move sideways you must indeed use the pitch wheels, somehow that doesn't seem right without the thrust..

I had seen that VS demo before, but after using it carefully it helps me understand the controls.
So driving pitch is movement ahead/astern, rudder pitch is movement port/strb. I get it 
Quite different from 08.

To understand how it works, you can look not only at the view of Kinematics, but also at the Hydrodynamic forces, and in this display the relation between the movements of the controls and the direction and value of the thrust should be clearer. You can indeed see the movement of the single VSP tug at the same time than the thrust depending on your handling of the controls.

Two of the four thrust indicators on the aft manouvering console on the "Red Eagle" don't work when I'm in walkthrough mode. Anybody else seen this??

It seems as its the indicators for the aft VSP. Really spoils the experience for me.

Just done a Red Eagle ferry in the solent

Ive tried a few things... but so far this has been the best yet. jet a PC joystick, and set the forward and backward movement to forward/reverse and then make the side-to-side movement to rudder two
