I expect so. Vstep never stick to dates. I don't know why they tell us when things are going to become available. Why not just surprise us when something changes.

Very true. To be fair, though, most software houses are tardy with their release deadlines. VStep aren't unusual there.

On reading  the post regarding the unfortunate delay it would seem the problem is not of Vsteps making but that of the publishers, Paradox.

Not knowing much about running a game company but...

How do the Publishers delay it - I thought it would just go straight onto the SS website?

Think about it a bit, if the publishers are behind then people would complain. Common sense says it makes sense to have everything available at the same time. There have been more than enough people complaining without starting it all over again. What about the people with the game in Steam version?

its always a issue with these guys, dont be surprised if the ferry pack is buggy as well.  Usually takes them about 3 or 4 updates before they get it kind of right.

PLEASE, don't give us release date's but let us wait the next time with "coming soon" in the future, and no release date.
We are waiting the hole time and finally: its the 8th, but...than... oh wait there is a topic that says: the ''release date'' is changed...  >:( ::) that makes us mad.... :'(

Oke than, the 2nd option is: releases this month... and no exact date.

Hmmm... "Releases this month" is probably not vague enough  ;) ;)

If I was representing Vstep I would NOT give a date without being thoroughly sure about my development and distribution cycle.

OK, many software release dates slip and slip again. And it's hard to keep the user community interested without some buzz. But giving dates when you know you haven't been able to keep to them recently is shooting yourself in the foot. Announcing functionality and fixes without dates is safer.

Slipping dates, every time, is not keeping people motivated.

But VSTEP is in a lose-lose situation here. If they don't mention a release date, there will be plenty of people complaining. Now they had to re-schedule the release date and people are still complaining.

Before the game came out, there were people who almost wanted to know on the exact minute on which they could pre-order the game.. ::)

Well as long as the patch comes out eventually, they did say march so like expect between the 8th and the end of the month.Maybe, it's because while they are making the patch a lot a of people bring up technical issues crazy requests and all these factors slow them down or sometimes drive them crazy. I think It would be a good idea for Frank to make a quick post one Announcement page that they are working on a patch ever time they do it, so more members are aware that in between that time period and until it is finished to go easy on the features and requests so VSTEP can focus on fixing up the game and adding missing features which I am sure there are plenty to do. After the patch is done, we can then look for other things that need to be fixed or added in and so forth.

But the devs are constantly working on a patch. The development of the 1.3.5 patch start right after the 1.3 patch was finished. It's not like they do nothing and check the rain on their office windows in between patches untill someone says "oh darn, we still have to make a patch!"

We have a dedicated beta testing team, who test the patch between every build. There comes out a build every friday, which we test and we give feedback on that.

About the ideas topic - we already have the bugreport and the many suggestion topics. The dev's also look on the forum and when we are pitching ideas together, like the ferry pack, they ask the forum staff what the community really wants. Some ideas are not feasible, and other ideas/requests make it into an update, patch or pack. The Coromuel and the InCat is a very good example of that.

Damn good idea, whoever tested this patch must have slurped a few bottles of rum.

It's totally broken now, if things weren't bad enough before.
I want my money back as it was taken from me on false premises, I assumed I would get a game that worked!
Silly me for being naiive.

Fool me once - shame on you
Fool me twice? - It aint gonna happen that's for sure!
