allure of the seas
« on: February 21, 2011, 18:54:05 »

more than one year ago, the Oasis of the Seas the largest cruise ship ever built.
less than 12 months later there was the sister ship Allure of the Seas exactly 5cm longer.

a great American brand marketing stunt for a giant ocean that deserves attention.
The Allure of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world.

Data
Built: Turku, Finland
Tonnage: 222,282
into service: December 2010
cost: 775 million to $ 1 billion
Length: 360 meters
width: 64 meters
height above waterline: 65 meters
top speed: 22 knots

maximum 6318 passengers

number of cabins: 2384
number of pools: 4, 10 whirlpools

The Allure of the Seas in December 2010 and stays in service until 2012 anyway around sailing in the Caribbean. because the ship is so large, only a limited number of ports where it can build.

*off-topic* --> it's 59 meters deep at the pier so she would have no trouble mooring there  ;D

no one really knows if a cruise ship will come before that..
Who knows if a company is planning right now to make a ship for 2015 or something
