I wonder why the Coromuel was renamed - she was already in game, so why not keep the same name...

Probably due to copyright issues, so Vstep cannot use the original name in SSE.  :(

Hmm, that's a very good point, TFM. I'll bow out gracefully and let the Mods answer that  ;D

Just as in reality it is not possible to open doors or ramps whilst underway in SS Extremes. This would be totally wrong.

Ahh - but bow visors have to be opened before reaching the berth, but they have to have a watertight door behind them which of course is closed

Not unless the ship is called the Herald Of Free Enterprise

I was, as per the questions asked, talking about underway AT SEA. ::) This being the main lesson learnt by the "Herald" incident.

Sorry, my error :(

I meant in the game - in Real Life, I have seen the Seafrance Cezanne raise her bow visor just as she enters the port of Calais, but would this still be classed as at Sea in the game itself...? So If I am sailing the Albatross IV into Calais does it need to be stopped to raise the visor...?

To me, At sea might represent leaving the confines of the harbour

As I understand it, this used to be almost common practice...I suppose for ventilating out the fumes etc. My dad has remarked several times that whilst he was on heavy goods, the doors would often remain open for quite some time.

I don't suppose it makes much of a difference in game though...to me it's the material whether bow doors open or not.

Ahh - but the inner watertight doors are closed -its just it wouldn't be able to lift it once its at the berth

Whoops, someone forgot to close the stern ramp fully while the vessel is underway at sea.

Expect a call from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency......  :police:

That's just so wrong of the crew.

When you drive on the highway, you don't open the door of your car to save time when you arrive at your destination.  ::)

Haha, quite right there
And considering the mission objective is to enter the port of Dover (which I can't even see yet) that must be really, really at sea!

And a snag to this is that I'm pretty sure the cars driving on are ONLY in missions and not in free roam  ::).
But oh well a fantastic pack all round, hopefully with this performancxe update some of might actually be able to play the game with more than 5 FPS  :2thumbs:

It has been brought to my notice that the bow visor of "Albatros IV" can be opened at sea in the game. I apologise for the error in my earlier post. :-[ ??? I must check more carefully before posting in future. I'm not sure if this is an oversight on the part of Vstep or if it is intentional.

That's cool Traddles - as no-one had seen any videos or pictures of ALBATROS IV's bow visor going up, you were not able to confirm this.

Ok, made some pictures of the location of Rozenburg-Maasluis Ferry (But they are still in their old state The new version would look different)
