Area of isle of wight
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:02:56 »

Greetings,
Because i could'n find a good map,to give any info of this new area.I explane it in words.
The area is located:
Take the south tip of Portsmouth, pass the 2 fortresses, and al the way to Ryde, thats one line.
On the other end,go a little west of Cowes, take a line a bit northwesterly up,to the english mainland.
All the water between these lines will be on the game, exept maybe the smaller rivers.
If someone can send me a good map,i will put the borders on it,so you all can see this a bit better.
Regards
Marc

Take a look at Google Earth:

http://download3dearth.googlepages.com/

there can you search for:

Town Quay in Southampton

50° 53' 44.13" N
1° 24' 22.89" W

there you can see the red funnel ferry and the katamaran ferry from satelite view...

Greetings,
It's not the Wightlink, but the other company's vessels,so you can start your ferrie service.
I hope this will do the job also.

Those timings are correct.

However, the other day voyage times from Cowes to Southampton were a bit longer due to a Medical Emergency on Red Eagle, which happened to be berthed at Southampton. At one time both Red Falcon and Red Osprey were hanging off of Town Quay waiting to use the berth!
