so... whats wrong with the caribou that she needs to be replaced? i have crossed with her and it feels like a strong sturdy vessel. so sad to see her gone from the strait 

Nothing wrong with her it a great ferry.
But for some reason they are getting rid of her and the smallwood.

yep Caribou is 24yrs old that still young for ferry and the smallwood is 21yrs old.

oh well. the new ferry will be here soon. i guess the public will decide wether it was a good replacement

Yah they are ok but I like the Gulfspan ferries better then the new one's.
I think the new ferries look more like a freighter then a ferry.

Well Blue Puttees has been in collision or grounding and is going back to the shipyard!

Blue Puttees is reported as not to have suffered any significant damage and will leave for Port aux Basques maybe later this week ..

Apparently Her Automated power distribution and control system shut down inadvertantly
