IJTS - The Comeback...
« on: October 25, 2010, 15:34:15 »

A lot of people were very sad at the demise of IJTS.

So following discussions, I think that IJTS can come back. But we want YOUR input

Do you want IJTS Back? What features would YOU want to See

The point of IJTS is its a Community project, so help get involved.

*Ideas already suggested are a new site
*Advertising videos
*Possible dedicated server

So what do you think?

Many Thanks

Hi all,

I suppose I had better explain what's happened.... ;D

Shortly before shutting IJTS down, many people had said to me that they didn't want it to close. However, I decided to close it regardless.

However, after closing it down, I thought for a while and came to the conclusion that as I had said before, if people were willing to run IJTS as a community project (Based around Multiplayer), in times that I wouldn't be there, I was more than happy to keep the place open.

So, the IJTS Domain has now been enabled, and is back online (But only viewable to myself and people working on the site), since a friend of mine has kindly said that he will develop a website for us (Rather than just an entry page). Whilst the site is being worked on, IJTS will remain closed to the public. But will re-opened soon (we hope!)

We're also looking to make a brand new promotional video. Any clips you have, or any video editing skills that you may have would be much appreciated (As I have none ).

Moreoever, we're looking to try and sort a server out for Ship Sim users, like we did with SS08. Although at the moment things are slightly difficult, in that the person in question has to load up his/her game, we're hoping that we can sort something out for you all.

If you have ANY ideas whatsoever for the new website, or any other ideas to re-jig IJTS, please do post them.

Kind Regards,
Jack.

It would possibly be quite fun to create a mission on either/both SSE & SS2008.
In which you have to do a tug captains course.
As a part of a set, so the first mission is easy and the last hard.

They could be called the IJTS Member avaulation course or something.

The further you progress and complete each mission in the set, your forum status on IJTS gets bumped up a level.

Like first of all, Rookie, Rope tier, etc...

Depending on the mission editing possibilities and features of SSE.

If you get where I'm coming from

And if there would be someway to present the results and time etc to Jack then he would move you up a level.

Then the higher members could get priviledges and access to a secret part on either the website or forum, and it's content up to you!

I will try and think of more things!
Kind Regards

Matthew  :)

Hi Matt,

That sounds like an excellent idea.

I had a similar 'idea' a while ago regarding an IJTS Masters Certificate, although I never got round to it. Maybe something along this theme would go down nicely. Thanks a lot for your input! :)

Hi TFK,

That would be nice too! Maybe a leaderboard of 'times' on the IJTS site or something like that...again, thanks for your input! It's greatly appreciated.

Thanks to both of you!

Jack.
