Wow right the topic for me!

in SSE we now have ports that are lightning up
And still the same red and green light on the bridge wing from SS08????
That cannot be real, If you see a ship at night the first thing you will notice is the beautifull lights.
Seeing a ship passing bye with only 2 lights??...How could that be happening??

Question:
Why dont the bridges in SSE dont have lights?
Why are the generators and bataries not working?
Why are the lights not updated in Patch 1.2?

Is VTEP not working on the lights?  :-\ ???

If see this bridge of a modern VLCC ship
You see it is nicely lighted and bright too see where everything is located
This is real

And this is SSE

Notice the difference

2.
This is real

THis is SSE

Question:
Where are we gonna be able too control the lights on the ships?
Where is there gonna be a patch that brings realistic controlable lights too the vessels on their bridge?

If we get too control the lights via the ships bridge is will bring more realism into SSE
And it will get a little extreme in SSE
My opinion
Driving at night is fun but only 2 lights??
That aint fun or extreme, In real ive been on the monarch of the seas..
ANd at night she was very lighted with here beautifull lights of the cabins, windows and outerdeck light.
If Virtual Sailor ads cool lights..Why can Shipsim?

Kind Regards

Hi :)

When a ship is alongside as in those pictures the lights are on, however when a vessel is underway I believe that by law they are not allowed to have any lights on that would distract the officers of the watch. Cruise ships with cabins facing over the bow or other public areas have to close blinds and curtains at sunset so that no light reflects on the water in front of the ship that once again could distract the Officer of the watch or mislead them into thinking it was another vessel. I assume it's ok to have lights on down the sides of the ship, but the only light on the bridge would be from the charts and radar screens or a dim red light.

I'm not an expert so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of these points! :)

Every ship I've been on, the bridge was dark after sunset, except for the controls lighting (usually in red light to preserve night vision)...only the skipper had a white light (small and directed) over his seat for reading messages.

It does look odd having a cruise ship at night with no lights.
I often use the "anchor" lights instead of the "underway" lights because it lights up the entire ship.
