SSE Update might need an Update
« on: October 06, 2010, 17:23:15 »

I just downloaded and installed the SSE update, but I have two questions:

1.  How can I tell if SSE was actually updated?  The game still indicates that the update is now available.  Is there a place where the new version is indicated?

2.  I thought the update fixed bridge problems.  My original SSE version zapped out the Brooklyn Bridge completely, and the update (if the program was indeed updated) still shows the bridge disappearing.  I do see an occasional additional boat, however, which I did not see in the original version in Free Roaming.

Go to settings, There should be a indicator which shows what your current SSE version is

Thanks, Captain Best.  Under "Options", it indicated that I had indeed downloaded the update.  But why then, does the Brooklyn Bridge disappear when I am in Free Roaming?

Hi Alozose

If you could uninstall your SSE version

PRESS "YES" When uninstalling to keep your profile settings and documents

Then reinstall SSE and do not install the 1.1 version. But skip automaticly to the V1.2.2
This should fix the problem ;)

If it doesn't help, Please come back here and we'll try again ;)

Maybe that's a good idea. I also have problems with the new patch/update.
Many promised things of the new update have not changed, they remained
as it was before, or even worse, like POR bow thruster (unusable).

Some things are improved, some things are worse and some promised things
are just not changed? Why? The new update should improve the game, why is
this not the case? POR with an unusable bow thruster = impossible to play D-C

We do not play because we spend our time on the forum to solve problems.

Captain Best:

Can you give us a little more info on how to uninstall the original version and install the UPDATE???  Is the update a complete and separate program in itself?  I thought it just contained some fixes to the original program.

Hi Again

Go to your default SSE folder, Should be in Programfiles map, Press Unregister.exe and complete it.
Now, look for a uninstall.exe program in the SSE folder. This should uninstall the game completely and without problems.

Install the SSE again, Wether its a Non Steam version or Steam version.

Non-Steam: Go to www.shipsim.com and hit the updates button, Save the 1.2.2 Update and run it

Steam: It is updating automaticly
