Added free-roam traffic
« on: October 05, 2010, 20:06:16 »

I see near Dover just two fishing boats, little further on the channel you have another boat, I was expecting more! It still looks empty and deserted. Even in Dover is nothing to see! There is no ferry sailing between Dover and Calais, that is very pity. I had hoped that we could adapt the amount(quantity) of traffic(harbor and at sea) manually, apparently this is not added, once more pity. The strait is the busiest int. seaway in the world, used by 400 commercialvessels daily, this will be limited to four vessels in SSE, once more pity. Do not start talking about those PC specs, just do something.

I too, was expecting more traffic, tankers, freighters etc

And the buoys in D-C are non-existant

As already mentioned, I bought SSE for the Calais-Dover scenery.
But this is one of my biggest dissapointments. Free roam is empty
and deserted, even after added free roam traffic! The ports of
Calais and Dover are just empty and there is almost no traffic
at sea. Why is it inpossible to choose traffic levels (sea and
harbor) by our own  in free roam?

Dove-Calais is not only deserted in free-roam, this is also the case
in those missions, who wants to play this part of SSE must be crazy!
More than one hour, sailing straight into a lifless world, this is fun!
I thought we could expect more of a simulator!

Calais-Dover in SSE:

No traffic in free roam!
There is just ONE ONE mission that we can play, without any traffic!
Hovercraft can not dock
No multiplayer server!
No buoys
Just one ferry (not suitable) for this route

To put it in one (few) word, a missed opportunity
Had expected more VSTEP...

On a side note, when the mission editor becomes available (and it will soon) then you can create your own scenario and add realistic AI the way you want it ;)

...if your PC has enough power to handle massive AI! It's not due to meanness reasons, that the mission creators abondon more traffic.

Those mission creators have to create updates to make those AI vessels less CPU heavy.
Virtual sailor can handel more than 50 ferrys in one environnement

But Virtual Sailor does not have the looks nor the dynamics of ship simulator. There is MUCH more processing going on in SSE than there is in VS ;)
