Not as good as SS2008
« on: September 17, 2010, 13:26:36 »

I have my boxed version downloaded to the computer, have the 1.1 update and all, and aside from the lifeboats and water squirting features, I m  dissapointed with this version. The ships barely move whereas before, there was alot more heave and roll ( the subtle heave and roll when you made a turn, or just crossing over a wake) This new version has very little of that and it really takes away from the experience. That and the lack of good missions compared to the old SS08.... please work on these things with updates...

content removed,

If you insult someone again, use that kinda language again, and have the nerve to edit a staff members earlier edit of your post once again, then you'll see what the consequences are. You've been warned enough and your additute is getting very old. - Fred.

there's also no need to be cheeky, insulting, or foul mouthed, no matter what the guy before you said.

And he has a point, although I would phrase it differently. In most cases, there is much MORE rolling and pitching, in the new game, not less.

But maybe you're looking at the wrong ships with the wrong expectations, I don't know. I would even say some of the new and amplified movements are a tadge too heavy.

Then again, what do I know..  ::)

It's not a laughing matter, I assure you.

You best behave a bit better and respect your fellow members, or you're on your way out. And editing a moderator edit is not done, period. If you feel you should insult people and use profanity, you either stick with what you've done and accept the consequences, or - the prefered method - you don't post that kind of thing at all, to begin with.

I hope this time, it's clear to you.

I'm assuming the original poster posted some nasty things for me to read

I apologise for my comment, perhaps i should of worded it a bit better. But, people who post comments like that make me pretty angry. SSE is freakin 100% better than ss08 and vstep have spent countless hours creating this fantastic game + an awesome patch on the way next week to make it even better! AND YOU POST THIS TOPIC?!

Hmm  :-\

WOW... I dont recall being rude or vulgar in my original post, but it seems there are some here who are~! Perhaps I am looking at the wrong ships but the ship I was using that I based my observations on was the fishing vessel. I have also noticed with the tugboat and the patrol boat that has the water cannons that unless you are in the middle of a gale, that the waves are tame by comparison. Maybe I have something wrong with my version of SSE. I will try to make a video of it so you doubting thomas can see what I am getting over here.

To those of you who disagree, please tell me what your weather settings are and what ship you think is the better one to ride in. I am especially interested in ships turning, as this is where I really noticed that the roll seems lacking. I have done some testing and am continuing to in order to provide you with the situations i am referring to.

I have narrowed the ships down some. It is odd.. many of the ships DO HEEL OVER in a turn, so I stand corrected. Using a moderate gale wind setting, the fishing vessel SIGITA still does not heel in a turn.... I am evaluating each ship with the same settings.. Will keep updated as I find them

vstep should have done a better job. 3 weeks and theres a patch. cause of MAJOR flaws. this should been attended when the game was being built...

Dear Rexxx,
This is been on the forum now for about a 1000 times!!
Vstep is aware of all the problems, this becomes very old news now!!.It is about time to change the attitude from destructif to a more constructif way of thinking.Dont you agree?

The more testing I do, I am finding that the Sigita is really the only vessel that doesnt roll at all. The issue I see is that for whatever reason the rolling and heave are not as realisitic as they were in 2008, maybe thats what Im trying to say. I see my ship literally flying out of the water at times, quite a feat with a 20 ton ship. maybe I expected too much for the price, and with how great 08 was with the additional ships and all... patience maybe will help.
