Yes, lifeboats are missing on other ships also. It is of cource not a big thing, and this deploy boats have rising the level of the game but hopefully so will the lifeboats come in the future patches.

Lifeboats on this ship would be a good idea, just play the tourist missions and you'll see why... such a big risk, everything constantly breaks down on that ship.. It's a miracle they came back home alive ::)

Davit, the deployable enclosed lifeboat that would be on Orient Star, has a significant poly count. Hanging that many on OS would make her worse than Titanic as a FR killer. There may be simpler objects made for her because I doubt that all of them would be individually deployable.

Well, the lifeboats do not need to be able to deploy. So either take away the whole thing where there have been a life boat or put the boats back again. Also on Sigita you can see where it should be a boat on the aft deck, but the boat in it self is missing.

Also, I noticed that the Orient Star is missing her rotating radar antennas ???

But big pluses for the new design overall!  I love that we can finally see the azimuth pods!  :2thumbs:

I don't really like that blue tint. I would have rather have it as the original but with the keel colored red and with the azipods.

The Orient Star doesn't need to be equipped with life boats - it is unsinkable. Passengers are absolutely safe on their journey.

Trust me.

Wasn't that the same argument for the Titanic ? :-)

Frank from VSTEP posted an announcement for the 1.2 Patch stating the Orient Star is getting lifeboats added that won't be launched since many Davit boats will lag the ship.

Can't at least be able to lower ''some'' of them?

Sorry but I am confused, my version of the ORIENT star has 2 lifeboats and the picture of the port lifeboat was taked from onboasrd the launched stbd lifeboat.  Perhaps the OP was at version 1.0 where as I am at V1.1

There was mention of an OCEAN star, is that the target ship that the Orient star was based upon?

EDIT;  Sorry my mistake, the lifeboats are missing and I was confused with the RIB's...Sorry.

Yes, now will the ship be alowed to sail again(if the reality was simulated, cause a cruise ship with missing lifeboats would never have been given permission to sail with guests aboard in the real world). Hope this will be solved on the other boats also. Like on Sigita, on the aft deck so is there a place where I suppose it should be a 'deck-boat', but it is now empty, soo may in the future Sigita will get her boat too(and also other boats, Sigita was just an example from me).

So wait, are thoe extra lifeboats all deployable Davits, or are they lower-poly static boats? I heard mvsmith say before that having that many davits would be a frame rate murder....

Indeed you're quite right! Imagine having 18 player ships in one environment!  :o
For a start youve only got 0.5 FPS and also with all those icons, you won't be able to see the game anymore
Below I have made a small photo of just how silly it would be with 18 player ships all down at the same time!
I should imagine there would be two player davits each side, and also the two RHIBS.
You wouldn't know where to begin! CHAOS!!
