Well, at least they got something right... Keeping that rusty wreck out of it.

No doubt it will appear later on as an add on...

For every 1 more ship in any ss series they need days or weeks to make and hours and hours of testing
every hole has to be correct even if it 1cm wide

They wanted to keep it realistic... and in reality that ship lies on the bottom of the ocean..

By looking at the shiplist someone posted earlier here for SSE its only 1 ship that I really miss, both in SS2008 and SSE.

It's the big luxury yacht from SS2006, I really hope will see her again...

Why the Titanic hatred?

I think it'd be great to see how an old school ocean liner would handle the new physics engine :)

I don’t think that it is hatred for the ship, but rather irritation toward the Titanic lovers who seem to think that the simulator is all about that one ship. Few of them actually sail her in any seamanlike way, or write meaningful missions for her.

Technically she is a problem because of her very high poly count, which generates many complaints about her not being displayed on lower-end systems.

I enjoy operating her in ’08, and have written one of the few missions specifically to tax the ability of players to navigate her.

She is intended to be added later on. Just be patient.

I love the Titanic, and it is the reason I started using shipsim, but then I got to using the other vessels, and I really started getting into it. I have really high specs on my pc too, so the graphics look awesome. Can't wait for the mission editor and Titanic so that I can have several boats sailing around her in the harbor.

This also raises a question, will sse have the unlockable free roam camera as did ss08?

IMHO that ship puts you to the test with its handling charecteristics, and i love the challenge of a no tug ... especially in tight slips.

Hi Marty,

I started to take an interest towards Titanic when I got my new system, as I thought it was a wonderful model on high graphics, and because she was generally enjoyable to sail. I've always had an interest in her too...it probably sparked my interest in shipping from an early age.

I'm interested in the missions you've made - where can I download them from?

Thanks,

Jack :)

Hi Jack,

Titanic 2 is still in Play > Custom missions. It was written a while ago, before Titanic’s dynamics were changed, so some meetings don’t happen exactly as planned. The mission was designed to be run at Ahead Full except in the fifth (NY) environment. Running time is about 4:30 hours.

Regards,
Marty

Note: Var & Dev have the opposite sign (-) from today’s convention in the note found in the third watch.

I have a quote from Mad_Fred in another topic where someone was making note of the lack of Titanic:
It's okay, don't worry!

Yes, if nothing catastrophic goes wrong, it will follow!
This is not the only time Fred said something along these lines, and I think Terry once commented, too, but I don't remember how he worded his post

I don't suppose the forum moderators could float and sticky a post saying that Titanic will return with time?
