Ships not in the game?
« on: August 28, 2010, 19:31:44 »

Hi all,

I noticed quite a lot of ships from SS08 haven't made it into SSE. Like the Northern Star, Titanic, Furie, Elbe, traditional yacht etc.

Does this mean that V-STEP intend to create an add-on with these ships? Or have they not been included for other reasons?

Jack :)

Hello Jack,

Sigita replaces Northern Star, and Titanic would join the fleet if and when ready for the new game. Furie and Elbe were part of a sponsoring operation (I can be wrong about the definition), and Porto Ferraio Angel was indeed not included in the fleet. Is it also not too early to make plans about add-ons? VStep has certainly enough to do, new missions, mission editor, tracking the reports and reactions of the customers, correcting bugs, and eventually expanding indeed the number of player ships, turning AI or new ones from the many nice designs (yours perhaps?) of the "local" designers into player ships.
Regards,
Luc

Thanks for the info Luc. At least everyone who is Titainc's fan are happy to hear she is returning. And Luc, what about the Thai Phi Phi Islands? Did Bora Bora replaced them as Sigita replaced North Star?

Sorry Matt5674,
I have no idea about the environments, if Phi Phi Is would come back. I can imagine it would depend on the players wishes, askings.

About Titanic, if I understood it correctly, it is an intention, a wish that it would be possible to please the players, and there are probably some hurdles, polygon count, availability of designers and of graphists... I am sure that Frank would love to address this question with Titanic's fans. But later, you certainly understand.
Good night and good luck,
Luc

Hi Luc,

Thanks for the information. I was just very curious that was all!

I understand totally that it's certainly too early for V-STEP to even consider an add-on. I was just curious as to whether or not this would be the case in the future.

Thanks!

Jack.

Well it was originally Hovercrafts

Then it changed to craft.

I am pretty sure Frank said somewhere a second one was planned

I think if we're going to see anything like that it'll probably be a while yet. First come the patches

That would be wonderful as a Shipyard add on. I would certainly pay for that, if it's one of these hovercrafts that used to do Dover-Calais.

Hi all,

All the more reason to keep SS008 when you get your copy of SSE.

Same reason why I also kept SS2006 when SS2008 first came out, as some vessels from SS2006 didn't make in SS2008.

Hi Kevin,

I've still got SS08! I'm still playing it since it's nice to enjoy maximum performance  :D

But...I remain hopeful that the 'missing ships' will make it into the game at some point...for now i'm happy that the Sherpa is here!

I would imagine that it was because she is exactly that...a static model. So probably not so detailed and just not good enough to be a player ship.

you had to get the european boxed version or something like that to get her in the game, and it came with missions to tow it around...

Hi Daisai,

I'd rather think of positives, the Titanic was an accident, however 9/1 was tragic, and seeing it all happen traumatizes you. I get what your saying, but lets keep things on a positive note, like lets have the Titanic MAKE it through Antartica  ;)

Cheers,
Matt

I think that an add-on with new ships and extra missions and features will be released. Just like the add-on of SS 06, the New Horzions/Collectors Edition of SS 08.

The SS Rotterdam was included with the Collectors Edition of SS08  :)
