Hi
Is it possible to repaint more ships in SSE or is it still exclusive to the P6?

I think you need a special program to adjust the ships.

You cannot select alternative paintjobs as you could in SS08, but most of the ships seem to have their DDS files exposed.  So in principal you could probably repaint at least parts of them.

I have a question. Why are the files encrypted? What's the purpose?

I would think it would be so that they cannot be corrupted by players fiddling with them. ::)

VSTEP is kind of the only people who can edit ships to have repaints.

I think that was a mistake to do that. Silent Hunter or any other big simulation games have all their files exposed and they turned out better or with no problems. In SS08 25% of the files were exposed therefore SS08 we were able to make it more realistic by adjusting the horns of ships and lights which succeeded in the end. If someone like a very very silly 15 year old decided to tweak the game and then it crashed, no problem it is his fault and no technical support will be given to that person, simple solution re-install the game. Some people know what their doing therefore they could play a major role into making the game more realistic

Flight SImulator is totally different from Ship Simulator as that takes place in the skies.. In the skies you only have clouds and stuff while in Ship SIm you have very detailed Oceans that look very realistic.. Even if you mananged to put a ship into SSE you wont be able to sail it because of the position the ship might be in. Its Vsteps job to adjust ships and make them float and interact with the waves propally. Flying in the sky isnt very hard in a simulator that has planes but going across an ocean that is extreme as it looks is what i call challenging and worth to give credit for the ships we have!

Flight simulator enables you to fly around the ENTIRE WORLD!
Ship Simulator DOESN'T!

Flight simulator also has detailed oceans.

Anyway, maybe its just the way the creators made SSE. maybe they made it too complex to make it more real, all in all, SSE is one of the COOLEST ship sims out there.

SSE's Oceans are far more detailed than the ones from FSX

......SSE is one of the COOLEST ship sims out there.

If so, why are you not registering your copy of SSE in your Profile in this Forum ?

You have been reminded by other Moderators too !!!

That goes to say, you have installed it on your computer and to get it working, you have also made use of the License Key. This is illegal since as per the terms of the EULA it can be legally installed ONLY on ONE computer. It is also highly possible that you are using a "copied" version and that amounts to software piracy !!!!

As vin_sun says, this use of the software is not allowed. I would suggest you get and register a license key of your own forthwidth, then we shall not have to take the steps normally taken with these matters.

Thanks

Fred

The one of them whats most active on forum, or maybe his friend hasn't got a forum account. !:)

Hi!
Not to butt-in on your problem.. But if I understand your post correctly, you plan to share an account so that you both don't have to buy the game?
If so, just a heads up. The following from Forum Rules:
"Impersonating Other Users / Accessing Another User's Account / Owning Multiple Accounts
You may not impersonate another board member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, accessing or using someone else's account or attempting to access another poster's account is strictly prohibited. Creating / owning multiple accounts is prohibited. Owning multiple accounts will at least lead to an immediate ban of all but your first account. "

I hope all works out!
