woa woa woa. stop. i know what the problem is. your graphics card. thats the same one i had. it comes standard with computers. its not a gaming graphics card. heres a link to a graphics card thats a steal for a price and run on full settings. same one i have.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121353

since your comp is better than mine (besides graphics card) this will do the trick!

So a standard graphics card can play crysis one of the more graphic card intensive games but it can't play sse on lowest  settings it doesn't make much sense when you think about it

And I can't just add any graphics card my computer is an 11"
 laptop

Its not a standard graphics card, dudwasup.

It's an integrated one.. a chip on the mobo.

You don't have an acual graphics card, and that is indeed the problem. Because you are under spec with that one, it's not supported even.

And then it also eats up enough RAM to not leave enough for the minimum required for your OS.

So no matter what it does with crysis, or any other game. Just because one game runs, doesn't mean you can run all games out there. The 'real requirements' of SSE are higher than what you have.

Hence, you can't run it properly. And had you actually known what you were talking about, you maybe didn't have to rant and curse and disrespect people whilst the only one to blame her is yourself.

You do not have all the specs, despite waht you indicated in your original post, so unless you get up to or over required specs, there's nothing Vstep can do about it. It's not the game, it's your pc. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it is what it is and your attitude is not very nice, I must honestly say.

Regards,
Fred

So.. you're actually gaming with something you're not actually gaming with....

I think I rest my case, your honour, Spambot and gentlemen of the jury....

Seriously.

If you buy yourself a decent card, then you can play. Otherwise, it's a no go..  simple as that. You can switch between non exsisting chips as many times as you want, if you're under spec, you can't expect to be entitled to rant about it.

Fred

That's not a card, the intel one.. you're mixing things up. But anyway..

So there is a real graphics card in your laptop.. just... not used?  Err.. well use it then!  :P

Why you are using the wrong solution?  Dont use the chip if you have card that can do better, I would say..

That is pretty much the same as taking one wheel of a racecar and then starting the race and then complain that everyone else goes round the track a lot faster and smoother..

But still, that card wouldn't perform wonders I think. It's not the best solution, and hasn't got the required power on it's own. It can used shared ram, but you're not overpowered in that department either....So if you run it with that card, it should be better, but probably not on all-out.

dudwasup - you're running a laptop for gaming ...

Laptops are made for using them running on storage battery. So even if sitting at home and being hooked up to a steady power supply, it could be running in power saving mode - so it would switch off any extra graphics chip like your laptops Nvidia chip and maybe just use the build in Intel chip made for normal desktop work - not gaming.

Have you checked in the Windows system settings, looking into the energy options, if the laptop is running in economy or saving mode ?
If so, you could set it by hand to maximum output, where the laptop would switch on or add the faster Nivida chip to run your games ...

I think, possibly, what he is saying is that it is overly resource intensive and questioning whether the developers (praise be) have worked sufficiently hard to avoid resource hogging.

So, do we let this chap have his opinion or do we execute him on the spot?

Well not according to your dxdiag...  or did you generate that while the laptop wasn't running?  :P

According to that, you're using your integrated chip... There's no two ways about it.

So.. 'switch' on the nvidia graphics card, and then make another dxdiag.. then we can see how it looks when the proper card is running...

Fred.

Stu.. I think he is entitled to his opinion... even if it is a little odd.. Then again, I am no techie...

Fred, he isn't articulating his point well, but he is expressing interest that the 'game' is excessively hungry... Now people are criticising him, he is retaliating with both sides escalating...

I normally use a laptop and some of the comments above from some people (going into power saving mode when on mains...) are really odd indeed.

Simple: Either your machine DOES or DOES NOT meet the published spec. If it does, you have a right to comment. If it doesn't then tough. My own laptop is slightly below spec for 08 on one point, yet does better than the desktop that DOES meet them... So things are seldom as simple as that.

(since my laptop caught fire on thursday, I can say that my new specs will be better anyway)

Sorry MokMok, but what would that change?  :-\

You cannot compare one game to a much newer one, and say 'it runs the old one, so it should run the new one too!'. The requirements for SS08 are much lower.
