Hello,

if i use the Screen-recoder... and i put it on then comes ***** lag.
who can help me!!!

Eelkon

Lag whilst recording is caused by a lack of system resources (RAM, graphics, etc.)

If your system is on the minimum spec, you will have problems, I also get a little lag whilst recording, but if you play about with the settings, you can reduce this to a barely noticable glitch ;)

For example, I don't record the sound, only video as I make all my videos to look like Music videos (Except the container loading one I did) :D

Regards.

Hi,

i have Fraps one week. my Anti-Virus(Kaspersky anti-virus personal) reports that FRAPS is a backdoor.

A backdoor in a computer system (or cryptosystem or algorithm) is a method of bypassing normal authentication or securing remote access to a computer, while attempting to remain hidden from casual inspection. The backdoor may take the form of an installed program (e.g., Back Orifice), or could be a modification to a legitimate program.
i hope that i warn you enough.

Hiya :)

That would depend on where you got it from, the official site is always the best place to get software ;)

www.fraps.com

I have never heard of Fraps causing an issue with ANY Virus Checker before, so I can only assume it's the Virus Checker at fault to be honest or the version you got is infected (if you didn't get it from the official site) :-\

Master Captain...lets keep in mind you were using a demo. I do not think they will put all their efforts and features in the demo as the payware version.

I dont have a fraps thingy at the top of my movies, so I think you can turn it off.

Sorry to bring up an old topic but I too have tried using Fraps but the graphics are very slow on it. I was unable to record anything using Fraps and it was fairly ****. I thought fraps would have been good.

I've used hypercam2 but it's extremely slow. Anyone know why it record so slow??

Edited for language, DJM.

EDIT: Sorry, did not think when I wrote that  :(

Usually, I would say 'settings'.  I use Fraps and don't record sound, except on my 'Container Loading' movie that I did.  I do create music videos though, so I don't need sound.

My settings for Fraps are 25fps (30 on some games), full size, no cursor.  If you want to speed things up, try the 'no sync' option, but I would advise having a slow-motion function in your editing package, because this can produce footage that is a little faster than it should be ;)

Also, try authoring the video to a separate drive by altering Fraps folder setting, this is what I do ;)

Hi DJM,

I cannot find the 'sync option' you mentioned. I have adjusted all the settings to reflect yours but am still unable to record any movies. I have moved the source folder to my slave HDD and set a HotKey of F5 but still no luck.

Any Ideas??

The 'No Sync' option should be on the Movies tab, bottom-right corner, just underneath 'no cursor'.

When you say "still unable to record any movies". what do you mean exactly, you can't record any movies at all?  Officially, you should be getting some kind of result, Fraps uses uncompressed video and only requires it's own plugin for capturing.  Have you tried setting screen to 'Half Size' in Fraps options?

There is another program called Growler Gun Cam that allows capturing, but I personally didn't like it.  That one uses plugins that you have installed, but may put more of a strain on your PC because it compresses video whilst capturing.

Regards.

I've also had great success with Fraps in recording videos of games and simulations, some of which I've posted here in the Media section.  You can download it from fraps.com for $37 USD, and it's very powerful, versatile, and easy-to-use software.  After capturing a video, I then use Windows Movie Maker (free from Microsoft) to condense the file (without a loss of quality) so that it's easily uploadable to Youtube or Photobucket.
