Ships for your thoughts.
« on: August 20, 2010, 20:36:15 »

Sometimes, I like to go on ferry journeys with a few friends, but sometimes they make me sick, I've been looking for some recommendations of some good ships I can try, so far I have tried: The Pont Aven, Cap Finnistair and the pride of Bilbao do you know any others?

Bay of Biscay... not something for the seasick prone...

I love going on Ferry trips me (bet you didn't see that coming  )

I would suggest the Bretagne to St Malo - that's a nice trip

Also have you tried Dover-Calais - nice easy journey, and if you are a footie like me, they have a £2 Footie offer on (until Sept)

Of Course for the InCat fan (and who isn't) you have Le Havre on the Norman Arrow (and Cote d'Albatre)

I can suggest a few more if you wish...

P&O Hull to Zeebrugge or is nice, they have a coach that takes you to Bruges city centre if you do a mincruise with them. Or you could do a trip to Rotterdam instead, then you can get a coach to Rotterdam or Amsterdam. You get off the ship in the morning, get on the coach, spend a day out in the city, and return back to the ship in the evening to go home.

The only thing which works effectively is to sit under a tree.

Alternatively I find jam sandwiches are quite good, they don't stop you being sick, but they still taste nice on the way back up!

Teehee

I suffered for years with sea sickness, to the point where I went to the doctor to see if he could help, after trying several different brands of anti nausea tablets he eventually prescribed a drug called beta-histine which is  for vertigo sufferers, it really seemed to work for me, to the point where I don't get seasick even without taking it any more.
