Titanic II Movie?
« on: August 02, 2010, 22:09:53 »

As I read the norwegian news today, on Internet, I discovered a new movie.

It is a new Titanic Movie. I dont know what I should say...?

"The film takes place in April 2012, 100 years since the sinking of the RMS Titanic. A new luxury cruise liner, the Titanic 2, has been christened, and is soon to embark on her maiden voyage, on the same route the Titanic took 100 years before.
During the voyage, an iceberg comes onto her path and her crew must prevent her from suffering the same fate of her predecessor."

Most of that "Trailer" was footage of the Queen Mary, and some of it was Rendering. The Titanic was the most tragic event of maritime history then. Building another Titanic, and history will repeat itself.

It's just another B-movie that makes use of the good name of Titanic's glory for their precious money  >:(
...and they think that if they are putting good looking people in this movie, it shall make the movie attractive.

I'm serious about this, this director Shane Van Dyke should be hanged for this.

Yeah! Just like that James Cameron flick!  ::)  ;D

And err Titanic's 'glory'?  Good name?  It could not do what it was intended for, was badly designed and constructed, obsolete at launch, ill equipped, and it sank because they did not operate her safely/wisely, and a lot of people lost their lives. I don't really call that 'glory' to be honest.  ;)

I highly doubt anyone will ever build another Titanic...there have been many so called Titanic projects, but none have ever gotten off the ground. Besides, her design would probably have to be changed quite a bit, to fit modern requirements. But even then...why the hell would you want to build something like that...with a name that has only death attatched to it?

The way I look at it is this...There was a Titanic. She sank. There shouldn't be another Titanic...that ship has gone.

Well, they did made a huge Titanic model on the sets of the 1997 movie  ;)

Only this model would be a few meters shorter than the original Titanic  :)

I must say on your post, Mad_Fred that it was believed to be a human error.

The picture below explains it all

About the picture :When the iceberg was spotted it was ordered to go full astern. But as you can see on the picture, Titanic was only pulling her stern to starboard but forward was still going for the iceberg, so by this action she only made a right turn with her tail, but not really with her bow.

Hopefully, the director might get the "Titanic Curse" for using her name for a movie of a false ship with an actual ship ::)

And There were talk of the Titanic being a giant ship having a small rudder, making it hard for her to turn. And with both engines astern, the turn became worser, and with the length and dynamics, her turn was somewhat turtle like.
