container mission
« on: June 25, 2010, 23:04:47 »

are there still container mission where you have to work with a super post panamax gantry crane?
if so how detailed are they gonna be?
i was a bit dissapointed of the container mission in ship sim 2008 ( grapgics were good but could be better)
in the misison you could only do 4 container( in a real shift they do about 250 containers)
some sounds were missing like when the crane shifts position
and being albe of taking the hatch covers off the ship
dockers taking the twistlocks of the container when you discharge em

I wouldn't take that as gospel. Container operations may be more realistic, but I doubt that you will be able to load many more than about 20 containers in any one waypoint.

You can load about 10-12 containers in SS08, depending on which ship is being loaded/unloaded. There are probably custom missions which make use of all of the slots on Vermaas/Sherpa/Wachthaven III/e.t.c.

If not, you can always make a mission in mission editor.
