Steve Irwin in SSE
« on: June 16, 2010, 21:21:53 »

I'm wondering why SSE does not appear to include the M.V. Steve Irwin. Seeing as whaling in the Antarctic is apart of the game with the Japanese whaling vessels and the M.V. Esperanza, shouldn't the Steve Irwin and possibly other Sea Shepard ships be included? Is it because they are considered eco-terrorists?

Why? Are Greenpeace and the Sea Shepards not friendly?

Hi valleyforge,

Since Vstep has an agreement/contract with greenpeace to include some of their vessels in the game, and greenpeace and sea shepard aren't really the best of friends..  it's really not gonna happen as fas as I would say..

None of the two would agree to that, I would think.

Regards,
Fred

Not at all, 'Captain' Paul was kicked out of Greenpeace for his idea/methods of direct action/attacks, whereas Greenpeace prefers the nonviolence approach.

Ok. Do you think ever in upcoming SSE that the Steve Irwin would be available as an add-on? (I'm only inquiring because I'm a huge Whale Wars fan and would love to sail that ship  ;))

Yha there is some bad blood between Sea Shepherd and Greenpeace Paul Watson was kicked out of GP because of his radical tactics so i highly doubt the SS ships will be in SSE 1) i think is because they ram and i dont think vstep supports ramming at all 2) i think there would be major legal issues with GP vs SS in SSE so i doubt the ships will ever be in it even though i do like the Bob barker shes a cool looking ship and the Steve Irwin they look cool but i doubt theyll be in SSE

That seems accurate lol  :-\. I wonder if VSTEP could make a look-a-like ship to the Steve Irwin......possibly just name it something different and change small details??

hi valleyforge,
My country (Trinidad & Tobago) is using a sistership to Steve Irwin, as part of their coast guard.

Her name is TTS Nelson. I would sure love to sail a ship like this but i won't rush for it.

I love the irony it brings to the southern ocean, being a former whaling vessel for norway.

I would pay even as much as 100 € just for the Steve Irwin if it was in the shipyard that's how much I would like it!
But thanks to Greenpeace never cooperating with Sea Shepherd I suppose this will never happen  :'(

I wouldn't mind settling for TTS Nelson in the game that would be superb

I misread the previous posts, reading them correctly made me realise that this post is obsolete.

This topic is locked as it was already heading to be another fight. I think it only right to say that possibly none of Sea Shepherds vessels will appear in SSE, ever. There is therefore no point in continuing this topic.

Angus.
