Although I only recently became `active` in Ship Sim Forum, I am already of a mind to `sail off into the sunset`, though I shall continue to enjoy Ship Sim.
I imagined that the forum would be somewhere for members to exchange views, discuss `ship sim` and maybe other topics of interest, help each other out, have a laugh with or even at each other, and even maybe poke a bit of good natured fun at each other. Now, I do accept that in my short time with you all, I did manage to [unintentionally] disturb a couple of people. [apologies were made]. This was probably because I have always been a `tell it like it is` sort of bloke, and my approach can sometimes perhaps be regarded as `a bit on the blunt side`, though NEVER deliberately nasty or malicious.
I get the impression that the majority of members are youngsters, which of course is to be expected since the forum IS of course `based` or founded on a computer game. Some of those youngsters are just great, for example IRISHJACK who `comes across` as a very discerning, bright, and pleasant young man. `Good for you `IRISHJACK` !
However, I already find that some members appear to have no sense of humour whatsoever, whilst others
seem to want to do no more than to look for opportunities to criticize or `snipe` at fellow members. Sad really !
It is good of course that there ARE members who warrant respect and appreciation for their courtesy and endless readiness to be of help. To name just a few for example people like Angus `Traddles`, Marty `mvsmith`, and of course good old `Mad Fred`. My personal thanks to these guys !
Maybe I`m getting a little over sensitive in my old age, or maybe I REALLY AM just a `dinosaur` ! As I sail off into the sunset, there just maybe someone out there who may want to say "NO loss" or something
like. If so, then please don`t. ! It would be better to channel your efforts more constructively !
Regards to all,
Ken.
