It is incredibly difficult to model a new environment. It takes a lot of time and effort to get one up to standard.

For this reason you'll notice that none of us modellers have attempted to make an environment for SS.

In a fantasy world: yes..In a realistic world, it won't happen
A new environment is so much work that it would only be included in a new game, such as Extremes.. :)

Like I always answer - either "No" or "I don't know".  Why does everyone here keeps asking me those silly questions with polls?  I'm tired of answering!

How could it be my fault?  No matter where you look on this forum - everywhere everyone is asking: "What's you fav ship?", "What ships you'd like to see in SS?", "What environments you'd like to see in SS?", "When SSE will be released?", "Should they have *insert any word here* in SS?" & many more...   It's a discourtesy to leave after you've been asked, but how can I know answers to all their questions?!

Just pulling your leg, mate..
There does seem to be a correlation: the lower the post count, the sillier the poll.. ;)

If environments are offered for sale, like ships, on the Shipyard, they will also require license keys to prevent them from being “shared” with others and to protect the large investment VSTEP must make in resources to produce them.

One can usually judge the worth of a topic by how soon it is taken off-topic.

Polls, in particular, go off-topic quickly because there is seldom a good reason for them and no one takes them seriously except the pollster.

With Virtual Sailor you can still download various environments!

But with Virtual Sailor you are able to download various bad environments too. :P

A new environment is great to have in an addon such as New Horizons say, but assuming that Extremes will include most of the environments we have already, we'll have a pretty big list to choose from!

Did you also notice the huge difference in the quality?  :D

I see rather quality then quantity when it comes to environments and ships  :)

definately. I agree with that. They may have all of the ships I have polls for on this forum, but they are all so poorly modeled compared to SS, it's like what's the point? So, yes, I agree 10000000%.

Ok I'm lost is this still about enviroments or ships ?
Cause I can tell you modeling is not the easiest thing to do getting every little detail right and to the correct measurements.
I am a 3D modeller not for work but as a hobby and I am doing pretty good I never modelled a ship before but I might consider doing one.
Maybe I have to hook up with somebody who models ships on this forum.

Here is just an example of an F1 car the Williams out of 1969 without textures.

Just three months prior to the release of SSE, new environments for SS08 will take longer to make. So the Shipyard now only holds ships, no environments. It is no longer called the Vessel & Environment Shop, just Shipyard

Good work!

I can tell you, ship modelling is FUN, as long as you didn't spend the entire time modelling in the most useless modelling program ever...

Even modeling in the proper program at which you're pro, doesn't make any fun.  It kills time, harms eyes, makes you want to eat more at the pc & turns you into something human-alike.
