SSE and Naval ships
« on: March 06, 2010, 17:57:41 »

I started a topic in development corner to ask for people to give opinions on the hot topic of naval ships in SSE only to recive two very unhelpful answers and to have the topic locked. All i wanted to know was do people want to see one or two of these sort of ships in the new game. It is a very polite question and i dont mind if people dont agree just dont lock my topics!  :C

I think it's already been discussed a lot, and there is a navy ship in the trailer of SSE so i'm guessing that will be in it.

Your topic was probably locked because it was in the wrong area, and there is a lot of discussion about this in other topics too. Just make sure you follow the posting guidelines, and search for a subject before you start another topic about it.

You can find them here:

No problem

I think adding a warship (without guns) would be fun, and open up some more possibilities for making missions (like patrolling an area for pirates perhaps)

If the topic was locked because it was prone to arguments, what makes you think this one wont be either?

I thought Frank Dolmans hinted that there would be a naval vessel in extremes. However I do not think it is wise to create a topic in which a moderator locked before, thats disregarding what they said and will only start trouble in my opinion  :-\

There are already two topics on the subject on the proper board:

http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,15934.msg208013.html#msg208013 (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,15934.msg208013.html#msg208013)
http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,2885.msg28892.html#msg28892 (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,2885.msg28892.html#msg28892)

And here is the precedent for removing the topic from the Development Corner:
http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,15935.msg208018.html#msg208018 (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,15935.msg208018.html#msg208018)

Thank you for pointing out that the subject has been done to death.
There will, unfortunately, always be those who think that they have come up with an original idea, and not think of the possibility that it might have been discussed before.

BTW, why do they all need warships firing all over the place & realistically sinking ships in SS?

I thought this would be a more sutable place to put the topic and hoped that it would not offend anybody here. Im sorry if im new to the system and am not fully complacent with the different areas of the forum.

There are at least two warships in SSE, and a coastguard cutter.

And the word "Naval Ships" is very very vague. It could be ships operated by the navy, it could be ships owned by the navy, it could be a lot of things.
