It's not often you can see all of Southern Norway in a layer of snow, the fjords are easier to spot than in the summer pics. Sat-Pictures from ESA.

I am taking my first trip to Norway in March     Those Fjords are impressive to see- either from a satellite or from a ship. I have seen many photos. Lovely looking country...

And the weather isn't too far from Britains- cold

It is only when you see a great big ship in the middle, looking small, that you realise just how big they are...

Some of my family have been to Norway and brought back photos (and stories of how expensive beer is!) and one of my former neighbours (now deceased) served in Norway in 1943-1945 attached to the British SOE... HE told me some stories about your country!

EDIT: Tore, (or anyone) and idea what ship that is in the 2nd photo? Is it a cruise ship or one of the many ferries that operate the Norwegian coast?

Do any of the ferry companies actually operate any services down the Fjords? Or do they just serve the coastal towns.

I would really like to sail down one.

There are many Norwegian ferry services, would like to find one that goes up the Fjord though- doesn't matter which, just a chance to see one.

Normaly she goes not into the fjords she travles to the towns along the cost from Bergen to Kirkenes, that's a lovely trip, and yes it's ferrys that goes from place to playse in their, i think CB are the expert their. Have looked litle around and yes it plenty of ferrys

Maybe you would want to visit Skjoldenhttp://www.skjolden.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=52&lang=en (http://www.skjolden.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=52&lang=en). Its a small place in the end of Norways longest and deepest fjord "Sognefjorden".
I would also recommend the Coastal Steamer "Hurtigruten"http://hurtigruten.com (http://hurtigruten.com) , in the summer time it goes in the Geiranger fjord. If you dont want the whole trip with Hurtigruten it is possible to embark in Ã…lesund(Aalesund) in the morning before it goes into the Geiranger fjord and then you can take a bus from Geiranger over the mountain roads back to Ã…lesund where you will meet the hurtigrute(coastal steamer) if you are going further with the ship.

Here is a picture I took of one of the Coastal Steamers "Finnmarken" but if you want to travel on her you have to wait for a year or two because its being used as a hotel ship outside Australia somewhere at the moment.
