Ho hum, if you'd bothered to use the search feature, you could have answered this yourself. The first patch will be released around the 17th of August. The save feature will be added to the game in a future patch - which patch it will be included in hasn't been made clear yet.

You would be well advised to read this. (http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,955.0.html)

You can download the patch from Shipsim.com once it is released.

Looking forward to the release of the patch!

I bought and downloaded this game a few days ago, and I have to say, it's a great improvement over SS06.
I hope to see the custom mission creator and sinking abilities in the next patch.

I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER BUG ON THE NEW YORK MISSION WHERE YOU TAKE CARGO TO THE OIL RIG! MY BOAT JUST SINK STO THE SEA BED AND I CANT SAVE IT. I SO WISH I NEVER HAD THIS GAME I WOULD AT LEAST 1/2 OF ALL THE MISSIONS ON THR GAME I HAVE DONE HAD SOME SORT OF BUG IN IT. AND EVEN THE SAVE FEATURE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 17TH AUG PATCH! SO I CANT SAVE ANY PROGRESS ON A LONG MISSION I DONT SEE HOW THEY ARE ALOUD TO SELL A VIDEO GAME FOR MONEY WHEN IN THIS STATE!! EVEN SPELING WAS WRONG. Now if i was good enough to make a game that was released world wide i would maybe just run a spell check to correct all spellings. They should look at Microsoft Flight Simulator X not one bug the whole game runs perfect with everything working fine and on that game you go round the world and it is 14GB big and they still got it all right. i know some people are very happy with this game and i would be as well if all things worked and i know the game is new and everything like that but still you know....I have just spent 1.3 hours on a mission and just at the end the boat just sinks in the water and that is it 1.3 hours of my life gone for nothing.

Nearly as bad as people that use in-correct punctuation, parapgraph indents and capital letters.

The issue of bugs is well documented now and they ARE being put right. Most should be resolved in this months patch.

As for MSFS being bug free? It has a massive beta test team. Vstep do not. MS can afford such high development costs as they sell 10,000s copies. Ship simulators are a little smaller in sales volume and unless either price goes up massively or it sells many more copies, you aren't going to get perfection in first releases. Look at 2006- almost bug free- 2008 will get like that soon.

As for 1.3 hours of your life lost... I assume you are having a bad day, yes? Not good for your blood pressure you know.

Oh dear not another one......
Listen mate i'll say this again as you obviously arent aware of certain facts:
VSTEP are a small company, about two dozen employees, that make training software for branches of the dutch government (navy, fire service etc) and Ship Sim 2006 is their first commercial release, SS08 being the second.
Now read back a line or two....thats right the company is Dutch therefore though they understand it well, English isnt their first language. Yeah there are minor spelling errors but I dont know about everyone else but I can understand what is written. As for the bugs, all games have them and VTSEP are aware of said bugs hence why the first patch to fix them is out this Friday (17th).
So FSX has no bugs? Odd, its been reported as the buggest FlightSim to date and MS had to release a huge patch to fix them all and some still havent been fixed from what ive heard. Oh and course FS is going to be higher quality, the series has been around for about 20 years and is produced by one of the biggest software companies on the planet!
So in future I recommend instead of getting all hot and bothered and randomly 'flashing' for no apparent reason, you should read up on the facts and be a little less 'enthusiastic' with how you express yourself, you arent going to get in anyones good books that way.

Regards,
Andy

P.S. And just to let you know, writing in CAPITALS is classed as shouting.  :)

EDIT: Damn you Stu, got there before me :P

Nicely put Andy.

I think we've all made the point and hopefully Karl now has an idea of where to look for the patch when it's ready.

So... I shall add to the list of topics I've had to close to avoid arguements.
