Ahoy Sealords,
Have a look at this one ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqdW6Ci0_K8 ) and watch what happened at 3'20" playing time.
Hilarious

Yeah Aad, I noticed that useful maneuver for maritime students to be taught in case of an imminent collision. It’s an innovation in maritime training simulation that should put VSTEP in the forefront.

I recall Pjotr doing something similar at the launch of SS Pro, when he came within half a hair of backing under a cargo vessel. A lot of people there were from various navies and they collectively hunched their shoulders as they anticipated a collision. Much laughter when Pjotr said "oops" and slammed all engines forward.

2 things which are taking my attention in that video - a trailing suction hopper dredger (finally!) & a new trawler.

I think that the most interesting thing is that, in Pro, you can drive the pilot boat through one side of a ship and come out the other side with no damage.

Difficult to see how a 'pro' simulator will allow you to sail right through another ship and out the other side?

Hey Mike, just because you never experienced it doesn’t mean it can’t happen. You probably never saw a mermaid either.

Seen a mermaid but have never seen a boat run through a ship and come out the other side unscathed. I must admit tho' that that was in only 44 years at sea!

Pionner going through a vessel unscathed is fiction in SS Pro. That was an incomplete model of that boat Pioneer went through that was being designed for SS Pro: Europort 2009. You can see some of the ships were edited for the opening, Jumbo Javelin having Europort 2009 over her owners, and the vessel from the Energy Saving Demo having Welcome To on the sides. I liked the part when the Dutch Prime Minister couldn't stop having fun, like, he wanted to be a Ship Simmer ;D

I wonder how come Matt knows more than all we, usual members, know about the SS Pro & SSE?   Marty, Terry, is Matt one of the members of your Pro development/beta testing team?

Ahoy Sealords,
I did send a PM to Frank_VSTEP about that strange behaviour, and he responded with an answer almost simulair to that from matt. VSTEP added that vessel which had no collision model due to the deadline. If the Dutch P.M.  had honered his ageement to stop after the official opening he never would come near that vessel, but beeing known for his attitude he (the P.M.) did otherwise. If VSTEP had knew that he would keeping "joyriding" they had added a collision model. But there was no way for VSTEP knowing that.
