I am quite excited about the new ship though, should be fun.

New ship and fun in one sentence?? I picked up a new vessel once, it was beyond horrible  :C

Excellent - look forward to seeing them

Is it a ferry you are bringing over?

It's a ro-ro, but more of a freighter than a ferry, we are taking her to the US to start a service from Mobil Alabama to Veracruz in Mexico, so not only the drama of a new ship, but US coastguard to deal with as well :)

Myself and the second engineer are flying out tomorrow, the captain and chief officer are coming later in the week in time for sea trials.

Still looking for a 2nd mate?  ;D

I heared it's especially fun when you take a ship for the first time in to the US waters...  ;D

@ Ballast, yep, you fancy it? :D

@TFM, yeah, the delivery voyage should be nice and long, they are looking for a voyage charter, there is a possibility that we could actually go westwards and call into a European / African port, I am hoping for a nice slow Eastward crossing of the Pacific though.

Indeed, that is one of the reasons why I would prefer to go East across the Pacific, although I have just been sent an initial stores list for the ship and barbed wire is included!

Generally speaking ro-ro ships are high enough that the Pirates leave them alone in favour of easier prey anyways.

Dover eastern entrance - Boulogne 160° (you need to sail a bit eastwards after leaving the breakwaters before you can sail straight to Boulogne)

Dover eastern entrance - Dunkerque approach channel 106°

I'll see if i can make a nice map of the area with course lines drawn in to it  :)

For Boulogne, would that take me into the Boulogne Ferry Approach Channel?

 :o :o :o :o
Have you seen this yet TFM?!
try setting the "affinity" of the process to all 4 cores, just right click on the process-set affinity

I have just tried it and instantly the menu screen was up to 23FPS, loading up the coastguard vessel in bora bora to see if there is a difference after setting the game to affinity on the cores ;D
