This is it: View My Video (http://tinypic.com/r/53nuh5/7)

*NOTE: This is my footage shot with a Sony Bloggie. The guys name was Paris Rosen and he was attempting a frontflip. As you can see it did not go well. He didn't die, he had a 5 day stay at the hospital. I was in the front row...

Late night Dover to Calais crossings are the best :) bearing set, speed set, lights set, time to get comfy and wait for the French coastline  :2thumbs:

I never even got as far as berthing in Calais  :C
Following the shipping lane past Sangatte and down towards Calais - fine...passing the breakwater it started to get shallow, so I turned to port and not before long had to change my lights :-[. Whilst manoeuvring off the bottom, it spun round BANG BANG CLUNK CLUNK sunk

Whey!

My first time was from Dover, sailing in to Calais, spun her around, backed up to the freight linkspan, as I was just about docked, the worst happened! I hit it at about 0.5knots, causing... Nothing! I was fine, didn't bounce off or anything :) then shortly after I sailed back to Dover, reversed up to the freight linkspan there and hit it at about 3knots and down I went..

Left Dover 20minutes ago motoring along quite nicely. Out of interest, does anyone sail Dover to Calais on a bearing, or just goes it's over there somewhere?

Well generally I follow Pride of Dovers advice of after going out side the harbour, turn until the Castle is directly astern

Then head across, and follow the white channel into Calais

I zoom in on the big map, hold a ruler or something up next to the ship and zoom out and hope she's heading the right way :P

Follow a course of 116 degrees if you left via the southern breakwaters in Dover  ;)

Is that through the Eastern Entrance or the Western Entrance>?
