Comedy?
Oh how riveting. I can't understand why some people are getting upset (here and on youtube) over a car they don't own. But that said, it wasn't riveting. I am not riveted. I am not remotely riveted to the screen.
I think some people are upset because it was THEIR money which was being used to destroy a perfectly good car, as the BBC is funded by the public.
If the car was provided free of charge by Renault and was allowed to be trashed with their blessing, then I have no problem with this. But Mr Clarkson or the BBC did not point out this fact during the Top Gear programme, so some viewers were left wondering if their money was wasted in this manner.
People were really angry when MPs* claimed millions of pounds on dodgy expenses, the bankers are getting bumper bonuses despite being bailed out by the taxpayers etc, so I see no reason why the way BBC spend their money shouldn't be scruntised in the same way as the others.
