Titanic in 2010 Extremes ???
« on: September 01, 2009, 00:36:25 »

I was wondering if Ship Simulator Extremes is going to include Titanic, I personally don't think so because if it was included in ss10 we would have seen it by now. Please share your concerns /remarks with me. :o

I dont really see why it wouldnt be I think the reason you havent heard anything about it is because the developers and V Step is more concerned with new ships

My nickname for Titanic. She is a big ship, and her name begins with a T, hence Big T, like Big E for USS Enterprise, and Big U for SS United States. ;)

Hi Matt,

This was discussed a while back. Unfortunately, V-STEP have No plans to include the yacht in Future Versions. Memory serving me right.
The main reason (If I remember right), was that the Yacht just doesn't have much of a purpose. Anywhere.
There might of been technical reasons too, I'm not too sure.

Try searching the forum :)

It is realy a pitty, that Vstep have not taken the good ships of the SS06 for the SS08, but why shouldnt they take them now for the SSE, i.e. the Luxury Yacht (I like it more than the jumping Marbella Delight), or the medium sized Containership, or the inland freighter/container freighter. Would be great to have also an inland tanker as player ship to do bunker operations in the ports. Also what I am missing in SS08 is, to put some objects, i.e cranes/cars/houses. Sometimes, when creating missions this is missing to make the picture more attractive.

I have seen many of them end up in the game..

It's not just about ships, and not every ship suggested fits in 'the grand plan' and also, a lot of the ships suggested are just not feasible... you cannot just recreate exsisting ships and stick them in a sim, there's tons of paperwork.. it starts with permission.. and the public of course doesn't realise how many companies have allready been approached, but have rejected, because they fear the rammers will make them look bad on youtube.. and other, more important reasons..  ;D

Because all those "I want this & that to be added in the game" are at the bottom of a request pyramid. On the top it's the shipping company itself that wants to put their ships in SS & goes working together with VSTEP & pro modelers that following the guidelines & have already some models to show & suggest to put in game.  ;)

Edit: What Fred said!

Yes never thought about that I knew it would be permissions...but never thought about the rammers and all of the other aspects so makes sense

If you guys want the SS06 ships in SSE then why don't you start a petition? I'm sure that with enough signatures, VSTEP would consider it.

Or a campaign, similar to that "Dover-Calais in one environment".
