Seems both of our favorite ships have some view-based docking problems, Nathan ;D

Guess it's much harder with Titanic though, those lifeboats completely obstruct the view!

That's why in real life, the lifeboats were all brought further inward when in harbor, with the ones over the side (1 and 2) on top of the inward ones (Collapsible boats A and B). Other than that, it would be very useful to have access to the docking bridge (when it is finished) and to be able to look out the wing cab windows.

You can't see your bow and I can't see my sides! At least you have a bow thruster and multiple rudders!

No it is the newer Lagan Viking, which isn't a sister to the Mersey Viking:

The Lagan is a sister to the Scottish Viking and Norman Voyager

Hi guys,

Just a reminder that if you want to enter the guess the ship competition you need to say when she was built and who operates her. :P

(begin Off Topic Post

Also, never knew Fred liked RBR! shame it doesn't really work on my new laptop.

I am now happy to report that i've fixed Richard Burns Rally (don't ask me how because I don't know) and have been playing whenever I can to get back into shape. shame it forgets my wheel's configurations every time i close it. (end Off Topic post)

What about covering Solidworks or Pro Desktop for next issue's development corner? It would be an interesting comparison! But someone else would have to do it, i'm terrible at modelling!

Yeah, Solidworks and Pro Desktop. But they aren't freeware, they're professional CAD software.

I think The Ferry Man might be in danger of loosing his crown ;)

The Lagan Viking and Mersey Viking are new sister ships (the first link) .The 2nd link shows the old version of the Mersey Viking, now Dublin Viking.

The Lagan and Mersey Viking are larger sister ships to the likes of the Norman Voyager, Scottish Viking, Borja etc :)

At the top of the media board there is a topic in bold called ShipSim Magazine Issue 2. The download link is in the second post of that topic. :)

Ah something similar crossed my mind today.

I thought that by the fourth or so issue people may start to get slightly bored by the same old content even if it is slightly different.

So that's where the poll comes in, for new ideas and also for little surveys almost where I can see what people like / don't like and would perhaps want taken out.

That's a little way ahead yet though. :)

Nah, I was thinking more along the lines of who would like what ship, feature, or enviroment to be in the next game out of a list, etc. Come to think of it, it would make the magazine useful to developers, too ;D
