Pilot on board!
« on: August 11, 2009, 12:51:07 »

Here is a movie i've recently made on board. Pilot boarding at the Wandelaar pilot station off the Belgium coast. We were underway from Huelva, south Spain to Antwerp in Belgium.

Thanks for the comments guys, wait untill you see my movie about mooring with 2 tugboats   Unfortunately, uploading has to wait untill i get home in a few weeks or when i have time to visit the seaman's mission. It takes ages to upload it via my cellphone!  :-\

Edit: ah wait, here is already a teaser  :P

It goes indeed very quick, it saves alot of time if the pilot doesn't need to use the pilot ladder. The SWATH vessel makes a list by transferring ballast to adjust to the freeboard of the vessel they need to get alongside with.

Yes, I like the video too - both of them.

There is one funny thing when I'm watching ship-videos: Since I play Ship Simulator (08), I always try to move the camera by dragging the mouse ... just to realise, that it doesn't work.

The stability of the SWATH hull must be very useful, compared to the fast monohulls RIB type vessels

Ah so that's why your were on that side.. so your vessel lists over to meet the SWATH then?  :P

@ krytsch, that's very funny indeed.  ;D
