It's Independence Day, a.k.a. the Fourth of July here in the US. It's considered the birthday of the United States. The country turns 233 today

The first official US flag was adopted on June 14, 1777. It is because of this that June 14th is Flag Day.

Yes wee know but i hope all the citizen live in the country do, so Happy birthday to all, if it not had been for the citizen's it will not have been a USA like today, then the Indians will had it.

I believe that the first U.S. flag that came out was a circle of stars, not stars in a colum.

Incorrect. The Betsy Ross flag was not official. The first official US flag was adopted on June 14, 1777, in the design shown in the first post, and is why June 14th is flag day. USFlag.org confirms this. The great thing about official US flags is that every official flag, from 1777 to today, never goes obsolete, so they are all legal to fly at any time! I could fly a 46 star flag (the one Titanic sailed under) and have no trouble!

I had a nice 4th of July. My family watched the fireworks in NY on T.V. What did everyone else do?

I have to thank Great Britain. First because it is awesome

! 2nd because without them, there would have been no 13 colonies, and no U.S.

My wife and I (she's from New Jersey) lit fireworks, had a meal and generally celebrated the fact that 233 years America became independent of the country she now lives in. Or something like that....

It was more of a battle flag for George Washington than a symbol of the country. It was designed before there was an actual official flag.

Not really. the 46 star flag looks like this:

Simply looking at the shape of the constellation tells you that is not the modern flag. Even the Star Spangled Banner is legal to be flown 24/7/365!

That is a flat laid out version of the flag. If someone was waving it around, it'd be a little harder to judge.
