Author Topic: Terrian I made for Minime. **Has more polys in it than the SS08 TITANIC!**  (Read 1724 times)

Yes, it is hard to believe, but I made this terrain for Minime using the 3d 'noise' feature in Blender. Well, here is the HUGE poly eater. The poly count is at over 1,000,000. If you don't believe me, see this. It is a model of Fleetwood England.

I think for a fast computer with a massive space on a memory or graphics card, it will run a little slower than the titanic. On slow PCs I Think it will look like you are taking dozens of pics with the Titanic in the terrain.

No problem Minime, also, I am not done yet, I have to get rid of the roads and stuff. That can be done in GIMP.

I sent Jason DeDonno an email yesterday asking for an official polygon count on Titanic. ;D ;)

I'm more than a little skeptical that a lot of careful detail can go into a more complex model created in far less the time....

Well, what knowledge do you base this on? As far as I know, you have no modeling experience what so ever. I could subdivide a plane to match Titanic's poly count if I wanted to in seconds.

Which was part of what I was trying to say in that AIM conversation.

Yeah, but what does that have to do with what you were talking to me about? ??? ::) ;)

I believed that either you created several polys very quickly, or it has less polys than Titanic.

Yeah, I created them quickly, then modeled them to match the image. But that was not to point, the point was that I had more than the SS08 Titanic supposedly.

I wonder what ever happened to this thread. Seems to me like Anfinn was going to make a game out of it. Maybe I should work on it a little more..

Interesting! Shame Vstep has no mechanisms for us simpletons to add environments to SS08
