it's the trailer we all recognize, but look where it used to say "Summer 2009" ....

Seems more patience is needed

I understand that when a game is rushed to meet deadlines, quality typically suffers

Well,you're also prohably one of the guy's who will shout of loud,when something is not working fine with the game.
Durring the years now,we know that some delay's make some trouble!!
If a delay is needed most of the members realy do understand now

I'm hoping a bit (like a lot of us probably are right now) that "target" means it could be before, rather than simply after!

Yes it is, because that Q1 was not even a guestimate yet... the first official public trialer, has the first planned date, as far as I am concerned.

And target means 'planned/estimated' so could even be later, depends on how many new things might still be put in to satisfy more of the people here.. that want it all, yet don't want to wait for it.. heheh

Maybe you are confusing the Pro version with SS10, THAT was said to be released in Q1.. $:-\$

hmm that stinks however i think this has been overreacted to i can wait im probably gettin a quad core for my b day so then I can run it does it have the same requirements as 2008? Cause that is slow on my surrent computer.

Hmm I saw that too, big whoop asking as it doesn't get like another game I was waiting for. Everytime the release date came near the game was delayed, this happened like 12 times
And people went insane, but some delays are to be expected, looking forward to the release vstep keep it up

oh and btw that delayed game was deadliest catch Alaskan storm.

To be honest, I'd much rather wait for a cracking game, than wait a shorter length of time and be dissapointed

projects are often delayed because of the unknowns :-

the known unknowns
& the unknown unknowns

patience & not putting on pressure will make a more reliable game, i believe

but maybe soon it will be called ss11

Hey Marc

I'm not arguing with you in anyway here at all, so please don't think I am.

I'd just like to say that I don't think Carl will start shouting about problems with the game, he hosts a very good realiable server for me, Jack and Nathan, and it has attracted a lot of people. I know a few of his posts can be very critical lol, but he's a nice guy, so don't get the wrong idea behind his moaning.

But Marc makes a good point.

If people want the new version now, now, now then they will have to put up with the inevitable bugs in it. Or else they can wait a while longer and receive a much better simulator when it finally gets released. Not that they have much choice. Vstep will decide.

No doubt there will still be some bugs (all software has bugs), but a longer development cycle will bring a better quality of release.
