Question about areas (harbours)
« on: May 02, 2009, 22:54:15 »

If an area was made by a user of this forum and was up to VSTEP standards would it be possible to send it off to VSTEP to put in game?

Hi tractorman,

Nope, There is no way to get 3rd party made terrain into the game at this point.

Because users do not have, and cannot obtain, the proper tools for the job. (yet.. hopefully in the future, things might change).

Regards,
Fred

It's because Vstep use a very different methodology to the way that Train Simulator (for example) uses its terrain files.

The very big bonus is that it prevents that MSTS terrain shudder as it loads each successive cell.

But it also means that "outsiders" currently can't create terrain files.  :'(

Maybe one day, though.
