Why is there no news about shipsim 2010 here if it is to come this summer?

Because it helps train people to be patient.

We had a teaser back in December, and I'm sure VSTEP are working hard on it.

For all we know some news could be posted tomorrow.

(I'm not saying that news will be posted tomorrow if anyone read that wrong.)

Hi y'all,

There isn't much to show at the moment, but VSTEP is working really really hard on both the Pro release and SS10.

There will be news, well.. when there is some!

And the summer.. well, don't expect it to hit the shelves on the first day of summer. That might be too optimistic!

Well I think those other places are lying about the due date. VSTEP holds true information and the others know little of Ship simulator

The release info in the teaser video is only a estimate..

Indeed it is..

Software development is not an exact science.. You can only plan so much, and draw a conclusion in the form of an estimated release date.

But along the way, all kinds of neat (and most likely not so neat) surprises pop up, that can make the previous estimate a little optimistic. And it usually only works in one way.. shifting the release to a later estimated date.

This is not unusual, it happens with a lot of WIP's that I have seen or been a part of..

But it's when people on forums, start putting out dates that were mentioned once as very early guestimates and telling everyone it will be released for sure, that people pick up on that and make a fuss..

Simple fact is, that there are many more developers NOT keeping to the estimated dates, than there are that do manage to pull it off... (and I reckon in the latter case, often there is pressure from certain fronts, that makes for worse quality, and I know what I would prefer..)

Hardly a leak, just a sensible estimate based upon long experience in such matters, and a realization of how full VSTEPâ€™s plate is.

That's a weird statement about a game that's not even far enough in it's development for anyone to have a concrete opinion about it..

That would depend upon how much VSTEP wants to delay the completion of SS 2010 in order to add things to SS 2008. One might expect a final update to 2008 to fix some things, but it would make little sense to add anything that is planned for 2010.

I hope VSTEP releases a demo of SS2010 before the final version (just like several other game companies does) so we at least can check if there is any big improvements from last time
