Heh.. yeah I reckon so..

Oh well.. one more shot then.. a quick render (lighting is a bit dodgy)

I removed all the google sketchup people, and such..

Uhm.. is that good or bad?  hehe..  :lol:

My models are all way too clean, I reckon.. but it's just the basic sketchup colors and some simple textures.. If I were to stick them in VS, or - knock on wood - if I manage to make something that is good enough for VSTEP, then I'll pick better, photorealistic ones, for sure... well.. where possible anyway.

Hi JHB,

Well, there is a fire extinguiser on this one that is the standard object from sketcup..  But for this one, and the bigger ferry, the rest is all mine, indeed. I started getting ridd of other people's work with/after the crabber vessels, but was too lazy to make my own fire extinguisher for this little one.. I also borrowed other parts from the crab boats, but they're my own work. (of course the stuff I removed for that last shot, that was also GSU stuff)

I just slowly went from half-mine to all mine.. not quite there yet, but almost!  ;D

I find that the most amazing thing that you do is the railings Fred. simply splendid.

A lot if you're an insomniac on the dole, Mike..  a lot..    :-\

And then I have my warp engine driven unicycle, with which I travel in the direction of the Earth's rotation in the morning, at normal speed... and theb back to my house in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation in the evening at two times the speed, to arrive back in the morning, and have a whole new day..  ;D

And cheers, Llamalord.. I'm pleased with how my railings come out, usually.. but it's probably one of the simplest things that sketchup does.. It's just a matter of doing things in the right order, that's all..  click here, draw some lines, push this, pull that, click a bit more, select some lines, click once more.. bam.. railings..   ;D

@Mad:

Yeah I know the methods and how easy copy and past is for one particular 3D model. ;D
Anyway I have to make sure that the object is error free before I clone it several times (that goes for railings for example, windows etc). It's a easy way to get a lot of work done within minutes but it may turn into a nightmare of the cloned object got errors.. :D
Then its maybe "undo, undo undo..and undo" or even worse - a reload of a previously saved file ;D

If there were fewer than 24 hours in a day I have to say, it might kill me! ::)

I learned about that the hard way... Now I am much more carefull.  I do love the grouping and component option in sketchup though. If you make sure the 'donor' object is 100% in order, you can fly through certain steps of the building process. But if you mess up, it can make me want to throw the whole rig out the window..   ;D

@Aad;

Thanks very much, I appreciate that!  I'm hoping I can pull that off too. Time will tell, I'll just keep going at it..  :thumbs:

Fred

If I recall there was a non-drivable model of that in SS06.

Nice ferry, Fred! Probably, the next one would be just only for one bicycle?  :thumbs:

One unicycle, actually. But who blabbed?
